San Josef Bay is in Cape Scott Provincial Park, close to the northwest tip of Vancouver Island. I travelled there with friend, and fellow photographer, @drakedyck.bsky.social on January 30th. We arrived with only 1.5 hours of daylight left. Contre-jour lighting can be a challenge.

Mornington Crescent: a rant.

Or: how a goofy word game about train stations is the key to how devout causes can ruin people's ability to have a conversation.

Stand clear of the closing doors, let's begin.

Between film projects, I’ve been revisiting my work made with Leica Monochrom cameras, still my favourite digital cameras for black & white, & the closest I’ve felt digitally to shooting film.

Captured from the same spot with a Zero Image 4x5 pinhole camera
these images show how changing the focal length, from 25mm to 75mm — completely reshapes the way the scene feels.
