Husband. Father. Hoosier. Citizen. Lawyer.

Due process is where you go to see if what is said is so.
I don't really expect this to ultimately be the case, but it would be a crazy world if the Indiana Senate was the rock upon which MAGA foundered.
The Heritage Foundation is cracking

They're gonna run out of Buckeyes if they keep sending them into Indiana to lose.
They sent JD Vance to Indiana and they were like never do that to us again

Indiana gerrymandering absolutely clobbered

Once you give in to a shakedown, chances are it will keep happening to you.
They're literally threatening Indiana Republicans
It’s all hands on deck today for the MAGA mob threats and intimidation.

"War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength." This is known.

Less known is that "fair maps" means mid-decade gerrymandering that cracks Indianapolis into four districts and cuts right through the middle of my subdivision in West Lafayette.

Looks like the GOP's effort to create a multi-ethnic working class has run into a few minefields . . . which they laid themselves.

Also looks like a 4 year degree continues to provide good insulation against economic shocks.

At the Big Ten Championship game, as time was running out, an Ohio State fan was self-soothing by saying "this game doesn't mean anything anyway." And, as an Indiana fan, I thought to myself, "to us, this means everything." #iufb

In fairness to the statement, he did not say whose side they were on during that war or who he thinks won.
RFK Jr: "Two weeks ago we ended, under your leadership, a twenty year war on women".

Three out of five men in this shot have been accused of sexual misconduct, harassment or abusive behaviour towards women. A fourth signed into law a near-total abortion ban in his state as governor.

This is related to a thought I've had about these people who are briefly famous for dubious reasons. Life is - god willing and the creek don't rise - pretty long.

Building a life that will sustain you over the long haul is slow work that can be derailed considerably by going for the quick strike.

“Suicide rate among married women in 1950 was 22.1 per 100k. Today it's 6.9 per 100k.

After the passage of no-fault divorce in 70s/80s, suicide rates dropped 20%, there was a 10% decline in women murdered by their partners, & rates of other kinds of domestic violence against women dropped 30%.”

Because yes, Thanksgiving as a national holiday has to do with the Civil War and not the Puritans or previously proclaimed days of Thanksgiving (of which there were hundreds) - so be sure, as you gather about the table, to give thanks for the victories brought by Union arms at Vicksburg & Gettysburg

In case anyone was curious, between yesterday afternoon's IU Women's basketball game and last night's IU Men's basketball game, the refs called 95 fouls! #iubb #iuwb

(Some quick and possibly unreliable research suggests that's about 20% higher than average.)

Enright was a lot of fun to watch last night! I don't want to get too excited about this team - I've been down this road before - but I'm starting to hope. #iubb

Mostly passing this along for the Muncie content.
🦃TURKEY TIP🦃‼️

Have a large frozen turkey? Get it in the fridge to thaw tonight.
But don't even THINK about thrusting into that turkussy neck hole until at least Tuesday because the ice in there will fuck you up worse than the ice you lifted off that unconscious hooker in Muncie.

Eat arbys.

After it rolled around on one of my Pandora stations, I've been enjoying Wu-Tang's "Mandingo" for a few months now.

Not being particularly up to date on music, I vaguely assumed it was a decade or two old. Nope! Released in April of this year.

Anecdotal - the barbershop I go to (not a hotbed of socialism; also, yes it's funny I still bother with a barber) had the TV on which aired a segment about "prices this Thanksgiving."

The barber, without any kind of prompting, sarcastically noted Trump telling everyone prices were going down.

A graphic posted in the r/TheB1G subreddit, illustrating the Big Ten championship game possibilities based on who wins and loses this weekend. Obviously IU v. Ohio State is the most likely scenario. #iufb

Indiana gets in if they win and also gets in if they lose but Ohio State beats Michigan.

Just saw someone described as an "ontologist" and now I want Clinical Ontologist to be a job title.

Welcome to the Department of Clinical Ontology. Let's go over your chart. I see that you are. Are you still as you were or are you otherwise? For your case of being, I prescribe becoming.
