After acquiring a striker (Tai Baribo) and center back (Sean Nealis), D.C. United now needs to add a starting keeper. Per sources, DCU pursuing veteran Sean Johnson, who had a good year on a bad Toronto team, which declined his option ($1 million+) but remained in talks.

I count 10 cities in 2025 that are on track to have the fewest murders since at least 1970. Newark is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1956 (though only have data through Oct this year) and San Francisco is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1942.

These are concentration camps. No other way to describe them. Truly horrific, and none of it surprising in the least.
30 minutes. Some deportees described sexual assault. Detainee describes the guard sexually assaulting most detainees. Lights left on all day. Prisoners not given clean water.

This such an important book. I used excerpts in my class this semester. It offers a solid foundation for where we are now. (And another great book one of my kids gave me.)
I'm in the middle of this right now, and while I may have lived through some of the history (and recall much of it in broad strokes) it's providing an in-depth class on the catastrophe of the US' postwar meddling in central america...
