A good thing about getting older is not having to exclusively listen to tedious aging millennials(ie my cohort) talk endlessly about their culturally irrelevant, obscure Nickolodeon cartoon from their teens whenever Avatar comes up
Avatar the last airbender had no cultural impact but yall ain’t ready for that conversation

The year is 2035. There are three game studios left. Each one produces a game every 10 years, killing 250+ developers in the process. They all accidentally make the same game because they used genAI in preproduction. They sell 500 million units each, missing quarterly targets. Everyone is laid off.

Fire and Ash was incredible. Impossible to overstate how inane the “it’s the same movie as Way of water” criticism of Fire and Ash is. Totally embarrassing argument for any critic to make

I don’t blame some people for responding to this with observations that some 20 year olds like listening to almost 50 year old music on antiques but I absolutely do blame dipshits making an argument out of it like it’s some sort of devastating rebuttal and not missing the critique entirely
Incredibly lame that Supergirl has a Walkman and the teaser is already blasting 80s music. At least Starlord was fucking born in the 1980s. Now we’ve got a contemporary 20-something woman with nostalgia for something more appropriate for - say - a 59-year old man. Gen X shit forever lol

James Gunn has made more movies where a superhero imprints on a particular era of music than Scorsese has made mob movies at this point.

It rules that the realistic choices here were that the next installment in the “Casablanca franchise” is either on Netflix or released by Paramount except it’s all about how much Rick Blaine loves Israel and the IDF specifically
Casablanca 2: The Squeakuel
Casablanca 3: The Search for Sam
Casablanca 4: Black in Blanca
Casablanca 5: Tangier Drift
Casablanca 6: Citizens on Patrol
Netflix, which rarely carries a single movie from before 1980, wants you to know how thrilled they are to acquire that classic piece of franchise IP, Casablanca

Hope everyone is ready for HBO to start taking orders from Netflix execs to make their prestige dramas second screen friendly, so people can follow along while they’re scrolling their phone while cooking

Palpatine is sitting around being dead after falling down a pit and exploding, just seething and malding at being dead, and then he decided to return from the dead, because he couldn’t cope. Incredible take
Hot take: Palpatine returning with a fleet of planet-killing Star Destroyers makes sense when you remember he’s an EXTREMELY petty man who can’t cope with the fact that he lost at Endor.

Look, I'm genuinely sorry for the Graham Linehan posts. I really am. But this is just too fucking astonishing not to share. The last paragraph of an Observer interview with him. Absolutely beyond parody. He's gone. He's absolutely fucking gone.

That awful contrapoints meme is actually true but not of the left but of liberals, liberal 'left', and centrists. They are the ones who don't want (*to use* their) power but always want to endlessly critique their critics.

Bourgeois parliamentarians don't give a fuck about you.

Don’t make them watch RLMs Avatar review where they piss and shit themselves about the anti-US military messaging and go on about how the U.S. doesn’t owe Indigenous Americans reparations
Fans extend every excuse they can for this and all the other racist humor and rape jokes that is used in these and their other videos in order to avoid admitting that they the points they recite are from somebody who thinks Samuel Jackson should only be cast as an angry black man.
