The super-rich own the media, who spend all their time drip-feeding the idea that going after the super-rich is bad for all of us, because they’ll take their money away. Plus you might be rich one day. Plus there’s all these minorities you should be annoyed about.

I don't see how Tesla's Model 3 can survive if Benz can offer an alternative EV this cheap, with this kind of performance, on top of the 15% tariff that it's charged in the US.

Imagine what this model does to Tesla in Europe, where Benz pays no tariffs.

🔥 Rachel Reeves says there’s a “hole” in the public finances.

A new decade-long Brexit study quantifies it:

A 6–8% hit to GDP

That's £180bn-£240bn a year

It means less tax revenue and so less money for everything.

Brexit made Britain MUCH poorer.

Nearly ten years on, the first full assessment of Brexit confirms what millions warned: Britain made itself poorer

Not sure why more of us haven’t become radicalised against the super-rich and why we don’t see more action against them but there’s plenty of hate for minority groups who cause no harm to the rest of us.

Obviously, only the amount of ADDITIONAL PAY over and above the threshhold is subject to the higher rate of tax, and if that is from a pay rise, you will inevitably end up with more cash pay even after tax and accounting for inflation.

#bbcpm
Evan Davis: "Not increasing the income tax thresholds means that even if your wages grow you aren't really better off because more of your wages go in tax"

This is utterly bizarre coming from an actual economist.

You ARE better off than before the pay rise - you have MORE NET PAY.

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.

Apparently, Turning Point UK are now the morality police.

In Orwell's "1984," the primary function of the morality police was to monitor, control, and punish any unapproved thoughts, doubts, or desires that could be considered disloyal to the Party.

See where we're heading, yet?
