Suggestion for how to cope with the combination of Information Overload & Flooding The Zone.
Don't check socials the moment you wake nor check conventional news. Do anything else @ all.
Aim for half an hour as minimum target.
Also start your day with GOOD news if you want news.
Most people are good!

Cancel culture alive and well. This is such a brilliant show and he is such a thoughtful presenter. I hope it will not be the end of his radio career but the beginning of another. @lbc.co.uk perhaps?

Makes total sense.
I for one will definitely be ignoring pesky health professionals & turning instead to newspaper columnists who backed Brexit, Boris Johnson, Donald Trump & Liz Truss for all my expert health advice during this very serious flu outbreak.

Pastel sketch on Charmouth beach where we regularly holidayed when child was small. Looking back I love the little details like the guy in the black socks. I have several of these old seaside sketches so maybe I'll feed them in gradually.

No wonder the capitalists are so afraid of Marxism. It is painful to watch society hurtling towards the end game - revolution or collapse! Both likey to be violent, adding climate breakdown and we're in big trouble! 1/

I wonder how long it will take for the oligarchs to start falling out of windows?
"Donald Trump and David Ellison had entirely different interests—yet they were completely aligned. And now it’s happening again."

It's a good there is independent media to tell the story.

Today's Triad from @jvl.bsky.social:
Trump and the Oligarchs Are Killing Corporate Media
The oligarchs only care about money. The dictator only cares about power. They can make that arrangement work.

Well now, would you look at that? A massive, 4-YEAR-LONG study of NEARLY 30 MILLION people in France found that individuals who received a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine had a 74% LOWER risk of death from severe COVID-19 compared to unvaccinated individuals and ZERO increased risk of all-cause mortality.

Genuinely insane and definitely not free speech.
Recently heard a story from a colleague about someone applying for a visa to go and work at a US university; at the interview the embassy official quietly told her to retrospectively remove all mention of climate change from her personal social media.

She's a scientist working on climate change. 🙄

I'm not saying masks are the complete solution. Isolation, ventilation, vaccination all important. Can you imagine a general going into battle saying I'll take my infantry, but not bother with armour, artillery or engineers?

I anticipated a lot of averse comment to me going 'guys, there's at least a £30bn hole in this!' but I thought it would come from people who *support* the government that set out the Budget.
