My father died two weeks ago today and it simultaneously feels like it happened yesterday and a million years ago. At some point, I need to write about it, but right now, I just want to say that I miss him.

This crab is going to organize its community against digital surveillance and I am here for it.
I wanted to get a video of this ghost crab but every time I got close to their hole they scuttled back in, so I tried getting clever with it. I made a little sandcastle and shoved my phone into it, hit record, and walked away. Crab was VERY suspicious of this addition to their environment.

You know what wins real wars against peer opponents? Warehouses full of bombs and bullets and tourniquets, maintenance crew to service the vehicles that move them and "warriors" to where they need to go, and boring spreadsheets to tell you how much of everything you have. Logistics! Logistics!

I think we should institute this in Toronto.

Reading Ishiguro’s THE UNCONSOLED and after two chapters I’m starting to wonder whether this is a horror novel. Because it certainly could be (though it probably isn’t).

Not true AT ALL.
Y'all don't understand how fast experienced farm workers are.
The average tomato picker pulls 650lbs per hour.
At $20/hr, that's $0.03/lb for labor.
