Lol the Nobels can't even acknowledge women's contribution to discovery. But sure let's acknowledge The Machines.
Headline from an article in Nature this week that states "Prizes must recognize machine contributions to discovery. The future of science will be written by humans and machines together. Awards should reflect that reality."

Reducing your chances of getting infected in the first place already reduces your chances of long covid though, and an extra 15% on top of that isn’t something I’d personally ignore

I do this during hayfever season myself and can confirm it’s gross af

But it helps my symptoms

But then I don’t film it and put it on the Internet either

no-one, certainly no-one in the public sector, could have predicted that the population would continue aging
p-no-nwa.bsky.social
"The government is spending an extra $1.6 billion on superannuation, because of an ageing population."

This is exactly the sort of thing it is impossible to budget for, poor Nicola. Snakes and snails! #nzpol

the most delightful version of logging on to see what news you've missed
Dr Ramsdell, whose phone had been on airplane mode when the Nobel committee tried to call him, told the BBC's Newshour Programme that his first response when his wife said, "You've won the Nobel prize" was: "I did not."

To which Ms O'Neill replied that she had 200 text messages that suggested he had.

This has been the vicious fucking thing about the "Jobseeker Benefit" ever since Paula Bennett coined it in 2013

In addition to keeping people in poverty it's been a term of propaganda forcing us all to accept the frame of welfare as economic obligation instead of social support

Fucksake. It's quite clear now that they only looked at this benefit policy as political marketing and took no advice on who it would impact – which includes young people with serious health issues and disabilities. Just feckless and cynical. Shame on them. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...
Hundreds of teens with a health condition, disability may be cut from Jobseeker benefit
The government is ending Jobseeker payments to 18- and 19 year olds whose parents earn more than $65,000.

By it I mean taking hallucinogenic substances 😅
drjulieb.bsky.social
Yeah, and a while ago I read a paper on how aphantasia interacts with hallucinogens, but they only tested it on people who had lost mental imagery. They found that sometimes, mental imagery came back. So they suggested that I’ve you’ve always had aphantasia, it might be a bit risky on that regard

Never forget that Dolly Parton gave a million bucks for covid research at the *very start* of the pandemic—including money that helped fund the development of the Moderna vaccine.

I have almost completely aphantasia, from no mental imagery to no internal monologue. Turns out people like me are less likely to develop PTSD and similar responses to traumatic events

Just for clarity, the unemployment numbers under this government may look terrible, but keep in mind, Luxon has driven tens of thousands of Kiwis overseas as well, so its actually far worse. These numbers are just the ones that couldnt leave.
