Lots of research supports the conclusion that in the US parents want their kids to feel safe, cared for, and instructed in what they'll need to know to thrive as adults. The anti-DEI hatred being whipped up appeals to a very limited audience unless the fears are stoked without opposition.

I call on Governor Abbott to immediately withdraw any support for this decision and refuse to coordinate. There is no reason a President should send military troops into a sovereign state without their knowledge, consent, or cooperation.

I was told not to teach a class on the intellectual histories of Zionism and Anti-Zionism next year - not because they doubted I could teach it fairly, but because it would attract too many politicians scrutinizing the syllabus.

A society where that is a valid fear is no longer fully democratic.

Again, this is what the SCOTUS has sanctioned. On Sept. 10th @chrislhayes.bsky.social and I talked about Justice Kavanaugh’s opinion white-washing ICE raids in Noem v. Vazquez Perdomo. His fact-free opinion was either naive, lazy, or sinister. The Trump Admin read it as a green light.
