Back on the streets at 6:00 this morning to resume my exercise regime after almost a year of relative inactivity. Hopefully all the ailments are done with. Got to get that step count up! Great to see so many people out and about at an early hour

I’ll keep saying it. This corrupted slag heap of a man should be removed from power permanently. He’s a criminal who should face justice.

Mrs Larry has just driven the length of Dominion Rd and reports it is Bogan Central, as black-clad crowds migrate towards Eden Park for the Metallica concert. Take card out there

In what universe is this a good deal for NZ, and in what universe could the bumbling perpetrators of this fiasco term themselves “good economic managers”?
So we are paying $46m more for smaller ferries that will be delivered 4-5 years later than IREX, but still have no idea on port-side costs apart from NACT1 continuing the Kiwi-way tradition of do absolutely minimum rather than properly invest in a 100 year asset....
New Cook Strait ferries won't cost more than $2b, Rail Minister vows
Peters says taxpayers have saved $2.3 billion while still getting the ferries and infrastructure they want.

Clearly Luxon’s idea of a “mature conversation” is one in which we all reach a point of agreeing with him and his govt - his govt being the paragon of maturity

Luxon, we can be mature and still vigorously oppose the sale of state assets, as you will soon see

THIS is the inconvenient truth
The most insanely frustrating thing about the #ClimateCrisis is how the breakthrough we so clearly need isn’t technological. It’s just a collective willingness, a determination even, to change in ways that would clearly be SO MUCH BETTER than the clear and obvious consequences of NOT changing.

The very words that should get this idiot removed from Presidency.
He can’t be controlled and he has too many equally dumb potential protectors.
Making him far too close to those nuclear buttons.

I'll tell you what I'm "deeply concerned" abt, @albomp.bsky.social @senatorwong.bsky.social.

I'm "deeply concerned" abt your complicity in Israel's genocide of the people of Palestine.

And I'm "deeply concerned" I won't live long enough to see you charged, standing in The Hague where you belong.

Agree that this is in many ways a solid deconstruction of blackpill.

What bothers me about it, though, is the insistence that you can't break it down by traditional left/right.

And you *can.*

Groypers are ABSOLUTELY right wing.

And they are ABSOLUTELY interested in the nation state project.
The best and most accessible explanation I’ve seen about some of the far-right subcultures and how they operate and communicate is this TikTok by @cybelecanterel.bsky.social.

It’s 8 minutes long—so I can’t post it—and it’s worth every minute.

RIGHT NOW Trump's deportations and military deployments to US cities are political violence. Police brutality against Stop Cop City and other protesters is political violence. The mainstream thinks it only counts as political violence when the state didn't explicitly order it & that's a filthy lie.
The MSNBC commentator saying that most political violence has historically come from the left just once again showed how we suffer from failing to learn history. Lynching, pogroms, race riots, the political violence that ended Reconstruction, and against the Civil Rights Movement. Come on.

Oh look! Taking care of people works…..almost like the economy actually is people and their happiness and quality are important.

Late stage capitalism is killing us all violently. Much more socialism is needed around the world.
'Since Sheinbaum’s inauguration on Oct. 1, 2024, murders in Mexico have plummeted by an astonishing 25%. It seems that when people have more money to spend violence drops, confidence rises, and the whole system steadies itself from the ground up.'

Back on line after a 4 week self imposed SM and news-free mental health sabbatical in Australia, most of the time being spent in the Northern Territory. A wonderful experience, with immense well-being benefits! Lots of photos to share, but first I need to figure out the best way to present them

How true this is. And NZ is no exception. We are governed by some of the most thoughtless, brain dead imbeciles ever to be elected to parliament, and their media cheerleaders run a close second for their commitment to championing abject stupidity
i am so sick of the dumbest people alive being in charge of everything and the second dumbest people alive writing opinion columns about how it's good

Here’s a list of Fonterra brands to boycott.

* Fresh & Fruity

* Kapiti

* Mainland

* Mammoth

* Perfect Italiano
