Bad Bunny’s performance began in the plantation, featured broken electric poles, and ended by centering a hemispheric understanding of “América”—among many other things—and some Anglo journalists are like “his performance wasn’t political.”

This is why we need to be telling our stories.

So… we should hire Technical Writers to fix the trashy, low-quality work the machine produced, that you said your machine would replace, instead of hiring experienced Technical Writers in the first place?

Or do you just want the general public to do your cleanup work for free?

Just clarifying. 🤨
Thanks techbros, you're doing God's work.

So, this is a long shot, but: I'm looking to hire a developer/programmer for my non-profit arts org for ongoing part-time maintenance and troubleshooting work on a proprietary database that's coded primarily in VB[dot]net. (I know, long story, it is what it is.) Would appreciate leads/reposts!

This is Maria, a 6-year-old detained by ICE last year.

She began to unravel soon after arriving at a detention center in Texas, wetting the bed after years without accidents, crying through the night and begging to breastfeed again.

Most of all, she wanted to be reunited with her cat, Milo. 1/

Three-time Trump voter: I'm looking at this awful picture of the Obamas. What an embarrassment to our country. He is not worthy of the presidency. He takes bribes blatantly, and now he's being a racist blatantly. He's pathetic as a president, and I want to apologize for supporting this rotten man.

Credit where it’s due:

This is one hell of a hard nosed bullshit free article by the NYT. It feels like an editor slipped in the word anomalies, but other than that it’s tough & honest, & how news outlets should write about Trump & his racist administration.

Been talking to my team at lot about the need to ship incrementally, to make each little piece useful, provide value to your customers as you go... etc.

I guess I wrote about that before, so posting here since I'm reading it again 😀

Finish what you started
Software development projects can only have an impact if they make it to production, so instead of having forty partially done bits of work, you should always prioritize having something actually done...

The US immigrant population generated more in taxes than they received in benefits from all levels of government every year from 1994 to 2023.

The Cato study provides the first-ever 30-year analysis of the fiscal effects of immigration on government budgets.

I bring this up often, coding faster in the wrong direction is not progress. Figuring out *what* to build is the hard part and needs the most focus.
Even if LLMs could create passable code, and even if they could do so ethically, the bottleneck will never be LOCs per day.

The bottlenecks are problem framing, and determining if the solution is fit for purpose. Human activities, if your product is supposed to be used by customers & make money.

I keep reading posts about people who wrote applications entirely with "zero coding." They say they don't read the code and instead refine the application using increasingly precise prompts. I have some questions:

* Is the application nontrivial?
