YQII 11:26 AM Just going to weigh in on this in general. First off, negotiations do not happen out in the public. The industry has been through this more than a handful of times, so none of this should come as a surprise. Once we're able to communicate, we will. Secondly, many of the loudest voices here were saying nothing is ever coming back just a few days ago. Goes to show that it's meaningless to speculate in the moment, as that only amounts to baseless fearmongering. As pointed out by calmer minds, the best thing you can do is trust that we're doing what we can to fix this. Thankfully, that has been the reaction from the vast majority of the community, but some of you need to chill. PS. Some SFX are more descriptive. I think one of my favorite fun SFX is translating きっちり (precise, thorough, neat) as LOGISTICS. I don't know, there's just something fun about that word screaming at you in all caps, lol.

So, fun fact: licensors are notoriously protective of their brands, and will take literal months at times to ensure that every single aspect of a title is being presented properly. You can't even SNEEZE without telling the licensor.

We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.
Credits for Brent Porter (3D art lead) and Catherine Menabde (2D art lead) are shown here. There's a lengthy description of what they did, with a pastiche of various Demonschool characters underneath, messing around with a computer.

This. I've been working with "machine learning" since before the current AI-fever and it's an invaluable tool in science and engineering.

LLMs and GenAI are being misused in a criminally negligent way and using misplaced legitimacy to do it, and that misdirect cannot be allowed to continue.

Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

After that, I moved on to translating manga, then games. I originally wanted to be an editor for novels and stuff, but once I discovered translation, I knew I'd found my true passion. Translation is kind of a blend of creative writing and cryptology. Challenging, but so satisfying when you nail it.
