Hot take but people constantly assume many conservatives don't have actual beliefs or everything they do is calculated and cynical but that minimizes the threat they pose. MTG is a horrible person but it doesn't mean she won't have stances at odds with her own party.

Based on social media, you might think the US was in the middle of a Butlerian Jihad. But IRL neither party has shown much appetite for regulating AI; universities aren't trying to ban it; content industries are adapting to it. The venting is anti-correlated with change.

Part of it was filmed in my hometown and it used a house of someone in my high school graduating class. Got to see Natalie Portman on set one day. Can't believe it was over two decades ago

i think the root of this is that at some point ppl forgot that copyright is a _policy choice_ in order to achieve outcomes that are agreed upon as “morally good”, not a moral good in of itself!
