Tonight I’m doing a drag act to “Shiny” from Moana. I made Maui’s hook from cardboard and tried to copy the etchings as closely as I could, but got the spacing off and had some extra room to fill in the middle, so I added a crab, knife turtle, and snake.

I think it’s pretty clear at this point that one of the main impacts of LLMs is to disrupt thinking: to make it so that far too many people never properly learn how to do it, and then to control the output so there are thoughts that people never learn how to think.

Yesterday my partner and I counted all the ads along Chicago's Brown Line for "Friend," a company selling an AI chatbot pendant, and tallied how many of those ads were defaced.
Still working on a longer piece on this, but here's the quick and dirty: we counted 104 "Friend" ads total, 42 defaced.
