Minneapolis’ lowest ranking and least respected public official. Also winter enthusiast, tax justice advocate, and Director of We Make Minnesota.
I love DreamHaven but had no idea that was the owner. God bless this wonderful city and everyone who is showing up to defend it.
Remember the other day when I was saluting my friend Greg Ketter, owner of Minneapolis’ DreamHaven Books? This is him the following day. Greg will never say this, so I will — now is a great time to buy books from DreamHaven. Support Americans who stand up vs. 🧊. dreamhavenbooks.com

Everyday is such a roller coaster of tragedy and care, but at the end of the day this is what I can’t stop thinking about:

They held him down, they took his gun, and they shot him 10 times.

I won’t forget that as long as I live.

This is helpful. We need more of this. We need the city’s help in physically blockading our neighborhoods.
We commend those demonstrating peacefully right now. To ensure the safety of residents, the City is putting in place a vehicle perimeter in the area surrounding the scene of today's fatal shooting by federal agents. The zone includes Franklin Ave to 28th St, 35W to Pillsbury Ave

Please everyone be safe as possible as you show up today.

ICE has been escalating all week and they may be actively looking to kill several people today.

This is why we will win. Because they can do nothing but cause harm.
Two women trained as first responders were abducted by three ICE agents. One of the agents starts seizing. The other two don’t know what to do. The women jump into action and save the agent’s life, only to be re-handcuffed and processed.

Detained by ICE, two women became first responders during agent’s seizure
The women say they guided agents through the emergency, later raising concerns about medical protocols, weapons safety and accountability.

It wasn't that long ago that all of us understood this guy to be the stock image for "man who's come to terrorize your community." Now my government tells me he's the most honorable, ethical, best trained, most experienced police in the world.

I never liked affordability as a slogan, and now you see both Republicans and national Democrats talking about lower prices and bigger paychecks while Trump makes an end run at fascist rule.

I know Will Stancil in passing and I find his online presence extremely annoying. But goddamnit, when he shouted "IF YOU'RE GONNA ARREST ME FOR FOLLOWING, DO IT NOW BECAUSE I'M NOT GONNA STOP!" ...I felt that.

Credit where it's due. This is solid tailing by Stancil.
Here’s a really tense ICE situation in front of my home. One car looped a block 25 times until two reinforcement cars showed up and led me home. Was pretty scary because I was solo - BUT I knew I had backup from thousands of courageous neighbors and observers. Strength in numbers.

This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.

I don’t spend a ton of time at the Whipple protest but I appreciate the hell out of those that do.

Standing out in 9 degrees and blowing snow to let them know we won’t look away from what they are doing and we won’t forget the ones they’ve taken away.

That’s a patriot in my book.

Please keep me in your thoughts as I wrestle with thoughts of how many diapers and pads I could have fit in Rita, my stolen 2006 Chevy Suburban.

Running Nazis out of town and then whimsical cardboard sleds at Powderhorn - you just have to love Minneapolis.

I just really hope no one disrespects federal law enforcement at the Powderhorn Art Sled Rally today 😏
The Powderhorn Park Art Sled Rally is this Saturday, January 17th, 2 p.m.

This is just one example of the Minneapolis we are fighting for. I kind of hope a few of the national journalists show up.

I am at the Know Your Rights Town Hall and Jaylani Hussein just said the thing I keep coming back to:

“In a way, we should cherish this moment.”

Although it is terrifying, our unity and defense of one another is beautiful and will lead us, eventually, to a brighter future.

What I saw last in North was horrifying. ICE agents repeatedly advanced on and brutalized peaceful protesters, firing tear gas and flash bangs indiscriminately.

Unprovoked agents rushed a dispersing crowd more than a block from their lines, just to reignite the chaos.

This is state terrorism.

This whole thing really puts a fine point on just how fascist-chic vehicle design has become.

And the proliferation of insanely illegal window tint.

It's fucking insane that they're all masked. Every time I step back and think about that it blows my mind.

It's impossible to comply with these goons, they tell her to go, she starts to go....and then the guy runs up and smashes the window and they all surround her and drag her out. Criminals doing carjackings are more organized than this
Today at 34 & Park in Minneapolis, a woman tried to drive down the street where a protest had broken out in front of a home ICE was raiding, saying she had a doctor apt to get to. ICE agents busted out her windows, cut off her seatbelt, and pulled her out before arresting her.

Dozens of ICE agents stood around 34th and Portland — inches away from where Renée Good was murdered — doing absolutely nothing but wait for the crowd to get more and more agitated.

After 15 minutes pacing back and forth they set off a bunch of flashbangs and irritants and left.
