In Christ, gender is not a factor for whether a marriage is holy, for whether sex is sinful, for whether someone is qualified to lead, serve, parent, teach, adopt, or write, for when passion is lust or love is healthy. That doesn't mean we abandon discernment, but that gender isn't relevant to it.

Whether these churches accept correct, just, God-honoring theology or simply fade into history as factories of shame and harm and fake-nice, the collective liberation vision does not include nonaffirming theologies. Affirming theology *is* correct theology. We have beat around the bush long enough.

I want to be absolutely clear: The end goal is no more nonaffirming churches.
Not a "diversity of thought" that's just rewriting purity codes. Not a "range of opinions" with a variety of ways to exclude and dehumanize and tolerate "separate but equal."
Not a bare minimum. Not an "I love you but."

Banging the drum once again that you can condemn political violence while also admitting the most effective strategy at preventing violence is not doing things that traditionally spark violence like occupying a city with the military.
Whether this was random street crime or targeted political violence, I think it was bad for the president to unnecessarily put the National Guard in harm’s way like this. They simply don’t need to be there.

People will die, and are currently dying, because RFK was granted one of the most powerful megaphones in the country. Two people who could have thrown barriers in front of his climb decided not to; there's a sex scandal here but it is not the biggest scandal.

But not having a strong slate might keep the Senate primary winner from making it over the top.
Whereas if you had a slate that say, was Talarico for Gov, Crockett for Senate, Castro for AG, and Beto for Lt Gov, that might drive enough excitement to win.

texas dems are usually irrelevant and unable to come up with a list of four electable names to run in a given year. this year, for the first time in decades, there are four open spots and at least five bankable figures—and they all seem to only want the same job

As of this morning, I realize the only modern American analogue for the Epstein story is Watergate, except:
1) the rot runs through the entire GOP, not just the White House
2) if the truth is ever going to see daylight, it'll be thanks to rogue congressional Democrats, not a dogged political press

one of my favorite pieces of folk religion — in Swedish, there’s only one word for dove and pigeon (as they’re essentially the same thing), so above the pulpits in these old country churches, they have depicted the Holy Spirit as their own local pigeon variant. delightful!! 🕊️🕯️✨
