If you were at the No Kings events, please wear a mask for the next few days.

Covid is not over.

You can infect others before you feel symptomatic.

People are losing their healthcare. They’re losing their food assistance. They’re losing housing.

We need to protect each other.

Good evening. We estimate that between 4.2 and 7.6 million people turned out for the No Kings Day demonstrations held around the country on Saturday. This makes Oct 18 very likely the biggest single-day U.S. protest event since 1970. www.gelliottmorris.com/p/second-no-...
Second "No Kings Day" protests likely the largest single-day political demonstration since 1970, with 4.2-7.6 million participants

When the founders stood up to King George, they were told it was impossible, but THEY WON.

When abolishonists fought to end slavery, they were told it was impossible, but THEY WON.

When workers organized unions and stood up to their bosses, they were told it was impossible, but THEY WON.
Cry of Fear limits every player's inventory to 6 slots (and would probably lower it more if they could, the way they did for the single player campaign), so it sort of enforces everyone into a pack-mule mentality in co-op.
(Not that it matters a lot since party wiping loses all our inventories.)
I'm not great at first person shooters in my own opinion, especially when they require mouse and keyboard. I tend to need aim assist options and controller support (or, somewhat more ideally in my experience: Wiimote-like aiming support).
So it's been pretty hilarious to go through this for me.
Played Cry of Fear's multiplayer with @kuoushi.bsky.social and IronChitlin yesterday, and will be playing more in a few minutes.
Kuou's been streaming the game's single player campaign for the past week (got one of the 4-5-ish endings), and it's been ridic to watch. It's also ridic to play.

I thought the Xbox handheld was barely in its conceptual phase but I guess the geniuses in the decision making department of the "we help genocidal maniacs obstruct peace and justice" company need to remain consistent in the tradition of making bad decisions.

Playing Earthbound for the first time ever in 2025 is fascinating, actually. You're just a kid and the world's gone mad. All the adults are useless at best or trying to kill you at worst. Everyone talks like a crazy person. Everything's too expensive. Your next door neighbor wants to be a dictator.

Much bigger than I expected. For those outside of NC: population 21,000.
Carrboro, NC has a sizeable fraction of its population talking about #NoKings today, high energy that I hope translates to action.

notice the general mood of the timeline? how everyone is in a good mood and there’s a lot less misery and dooming? how there’s a lot of “we’re going to beat these assholes”?

anyway that’s why these events are important
