That’s 75% of why I always call zero mission the ideal remake tbh
That and it’s also a really really fuckin good game on its own, even if it is a completely different experience than the original

On one hand, I agree that remakes shouldn’t be touted as full blown replacements for classic games and we should do a better job at preserving older titles.

On the other, I do think a lot of remakes are good and more accessible means to play older games without resorting to unofficial emulation.

There's an argument to be made that a remake inherently has a different creative vision behind it, and that they don't replace the originals. That's fair.

But sometimes I see that twisted into "it can never be as good because it's not the original vision" and like... no, that's a leap and a half.
