The LUAS Red Line was thrown into chaos at rush hour this evening due to an incident at St James's. In order to find out what was going on with the service, the LUAS expected thousands of affected passengers to check their X account. It's ridiculous, enraging, and at this stage totally unacceptable
I posted on X for the first time In ages. Immediately deleted the post. Holy Christ. It’s bad bad. Like sticking your head in a wasps nest

The numbers vary from study to study but hundreds of thousands of people have died because of Elon Musk and Marco Rubio illegally disbanding USAID — a body count on par with the first eight years of the Syrian civil war — In just seven months. It’s mass death that is simply unfathomable in scale.

I don't understand how anyone can watch how blatantly Grok is manipulated to answer the way ownership desires it to and then act like the other LLM chatbots couldn't possibly be similarly but less obviously compromised to produce responses in whatever way corporate interests and priorities dictate.

If you’re a journalist who’s still on Twitter, from now on in your writing you have to replace “the American people want” with “troll bots in Eastern Europe demand”

Being there makes your judgment suspect. I don’t care how savvy you think you are, you’re marinating in a disinformation campaign.

well, I read it, and the salient, non-gross part is Lizza alleging, midsentence and without elaboration, that Nuzzi ran numerous “catch-and-kill operations” on RFK’s behalf, which would give her a role in both his appointment and the untold preventable deaths he has abetted in office. Cool.

The Irish government has failed for years to do anything about the housing crisis but tinker around the edges.
They refuse to build social housing, even though we have the money, in case someones investment property loses 1% of its value.
The current shitetalk about judicial review is a distraction.
John Collison was talking utter garbage and it says so much that so many politicians fell over themselves to fellate him for writing a pack of lies

Borders Czar Tom Homan just announced he’s ramping up ICE operations in NYC.

Same playbook we’ve been seeing in LA, DC, Chicago & Charlotte. They aren’t hunting criminals, they’re targeting workers and people who are part of the community. Families. Neighbors. The people who keep the city running.

Our consensus reality was already breaking down as right-wing media grew and lived in its own narrative.
What if we automate that breakdown, and scale it up so every fragile mind can have their personal delusions reinforced?
Expect a mental health tidal wave, and a lot more lone-wolf terrorists.
Bellingcat’s contact email has always been a magnet for people with fairly unusual views; paranoid delusions, sprawling conspiracies, the works. But recently, the pattern has shifted, we’re seeing more and more emails clearly written with ChatGPT.

Hard to articulate, but part of me is genuinely distressed to discover that Alan Moore is a man with a specific age and is not, like, an immortal wizard.
Happy 72nd birthday to Alan Moore who was born on this date in 1953.

Hands down, he is my favorite comic writer of all time.

He was the writer who made me realize in 1984 that comic books I had enjoyed since four years of age could be literary masterpieces.

I've updated the map to include counties in Northern Ireland, and shortened the timeframe to only look at the past 10 years due to improvements in road safety.
There does appear to be a clear pattern of border counties having the worst outcomes, by population.

I've produced the map below, which I hope will draw attention to where road safety efforts may help save lives.
