Could Black History be a blueprint for fighting modern “technofascism”?

Technofascism isn’t just about politics or tech. It is about who holds power and uses systems to push their ideologies while claiming to maintain order.

Many people in South Africa, where Elon is from, died to create a genuinely multiracial polity. They were killed by people who thought like Elon.

The people who thought like Elon also lost. Seems their “common culture” of white supremacy wasn’t enough.

1/3 What Musk is really referring to here is, of course “race” - that construct that served to define the hierarchies of wealth & power structured by modern colonialism. Like other far right racists though, he uses the word “culture” as a seemingly less pernicious synonym.

The co-founder exodus at xAI is blamed on Elon’s focus on Grok producing NSFW content and being perennially behind leading labs like OpenAI and Anthropic.

I guess being pioneers in AI generated CSAM and deepfake porn was less exciting than they originally imagined.🤷🏾‍♂️
xAI's founder exodus reportedly tied to safety concerns and frustration over Grok's failure to catch up
Elon Musk's AI company xAI is hemorrhaging talent. Former employees describe a culture of missing safety standards, growing disillusionment, and a constant race to catch up with OpenAI and Anthropic.

I mean there have been A LOT of crazy moments of Trump officials testifying before Congress over the years, but Attorney General Pam Bondi ranting about the stock market during a House Judiciary hearing - amidst questions about Epstein, ICE, and political prosecutions - has gotta make the Top 3.
Bondi crashes out over Epstein: "The Dow is over 50,000 dollars! I don't know why you're laughing. You're a great stock trader as I hear, Raskin. The Dow is over 50,000 right now. The S&P at almost 7,000, and the Nasdaq smashing records. That's what we should be talking about."

How many enterprise companies have meaningfully reduced, or eliminated, their software engineering backlogs. Are we at the point where GenAI is paying off in production?

Are salaries increasing to match this new level of productivity?

Way to make Salesforce employees feel comfortable at what was likely a mandatory all-hands meeting. Completely tone deaf.

Also, not sure any global company should have all-hands in the U.S. right now, given how dangerous ICE has made American streets for citizens, immigrants, and visitors alike.
NEW: Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff ‘joked’ with employees who had traveled to the United States for a Salesforce all-hands meeting that ICE agents were in the building keeping tabs on them, 404 Media has learned.
