The Duopoly brings us such bad government.

And, with collective Stockholm syndrome, we suffer it.

Healthcare in the U.S. should prompt this … that it doesn’t (or hasn’t yet) is a sign of the degree of Stockholm Syndrome suffered by the American people.
Bulgaria had the largest anti-impunity protest in 30 years and after a couple of days the government resigned. #3E

This is stupid. US airports are a chaotic mess that is entirely designed to suck money out of travelers after they clear TSA while they are stuck waiting for a flight. Water costs $7.50 or more.

Last thing airports need is more crap shoved into them.

Simplify them!
Duffy on what he's doing to improve the airport experience for travelers: "Maybe I want a workout area where people might get some blood flowing doing some pull ups or step ups in the airport."

I do think people are afraid of the unknown. They think something like UC would actually be more expensive in the end. When you talk about a major car accident, cancer, etc. and the bills that come with those, they seem to change their tune a bit when they realize those extra taxes would cover them.

The reluctance towards universal healthcare is all the false information that has been drilled into people like having to wait months for surgeries, substandard care, etc. Every time I have this conversation with some people, this is their response. UHC equals less care in their minds.

Absolutely. In fact, it's how it should be.
But as long as capitalism is determined to prevent taxes on the rich, as long as they can propagandize with impunity that universal healthcare is bad, and have the dumbest among us believe it and vote against it, this could at least be a doorway to it....

Insurance premiums.

Is it about so many people hating it, or the fact that lobbyists for insurance companies are louder and stronger? And too many politicians are making bank on that? Seems like most people in the U.S. want universal healthcare.

We lead the world in medical bill bankruptcies by a very wide margin. That says it all... "We're number 1, we're number 1!"

I'll never understand how so many people got conned into hating the idea of universal healthcare.
Say you pay 20% more in taxes.
Your employer pays you more because no insurance.
You never see a doctor, lab or out of network specialist bill again.
You have a low copay for drugs.
Isn't that worth it?

I am increasingly thinking that 2026 will be my year of going very much more analogue and old-tech (I hate the term retro, because that implies a fad) and being super mindful of how I use new tech.
I dunno man the concept of actually owning something you pay for must be like a drug if you're under 30
Why do Gen Z have a growing appetite for retro tech?

My songwriting friend and I have this saying…

“Sometimes the song gets there before you do.”

What we mean is that often times the writer doesn’t know what a song is really about until long after it is finished. Sometimes only in hindsight do we know what we were trying to say.

The oligarchs sold America out years ago, when they moved all manufacturing to China and India to avoid paying American workers fair wages and to satisfy their greed.

My little tariff story. I've been getting the same biscotti from the same company for two years. Today I was notified that my shipment was "caught up in Customs" in Houston and will be subject to tariffs, which I will not pay. So that's that. EVERYthing costs more.
