Yeah. Like frankly, I suspect the majority of cis people I politely interact with don’t think I’m a real lady. I suspect they also disagree with my religious affiliation, Dungeons and Dragons class, sports team support, and favorite Pokémon. None of that has to be a problem ordering a burrito.

Being a fan of niche anime has to be the result of some really horrible karma some of the most interesting sounding and coolest looking ones are absolutely impossible to find

There’s this assumption that the alternatives are low value add factory work and high paying office work but obviously these aren’t the choices in 90’s China, it’s the factories or the fields, and the former pays better and is less work. Especially now we know it truly was transitive!

No one in America really cares about foreign countries but I really wish there was a more nuanced conversation about labor conditions in foreign countries. This obviously is itself a huge lightening rod for edgy contrarianism (looking at you MattY), but like sweatshop workers *are* locally rich

“Humans can just go get manual labor jobs if desk jobs are repaired with AI” is both not going to suffice to provide enough jobs and is also going to result in massive societal anger because manual labor jobs often *are terrible*, which is why people have worked hard to avoid them for generations.
Even if society provided the food/shelter level needs for everyone, humans also need to perform useful work just for basic fulfillment. The vast majority of people cannot sit around all day letting AI and robots do everything.
(The definition of “useful work” here is malleable but still essential)
