Judas Priest are, and always were, a truer and heavier metal band than Iron Maiden.
This place needs some Innocuous Discourse pronto. Quote this with a take that’s not political or aggressive

"social media is good for disabled people" is not a counter argument. disabled people have been bullied into suicide online too. the existence of a benefit does not negate obvious downsides. I am so tired of this being used as a thought terminating cliche

What this platform needs are pop stans
January 5, 2026 at 10:03 PM
Not to be mean but none of those are celebrities that are actively relevant in mainstream pop culture, and especially none of them is a major musician, which is a really important thing to have for diversification of a platform, we need official album announcements on here
Top actual celebrities on this platform (not counting journalists, politicians, and comic book writers, who are all pretty plentiful) are almost all pretty hardcore posters:

as someone else pointed out: i should not be anywhere in the top 100 user list on the leaderboard

there should be actual celebrities among others there if this site is to replace Twitter
Really also makes clear how small BlueSky is

Yeah again, not telling you how to post but the number of people I see both enthusiastically celebrating “running off” someone and decrying people still being on X is not zero. You gotta choose guys!
I find it hard to square the preciousness about "why would someone ever stay on Twitter?" when everyone on this site knows that the community here intentionally chased off lots of people.

i think this site really needs to figure out how to grow the non-politics verticals (the baseball moment was a good thing!) because i suspect a lot of the bad clusters come out of the political clusters driving 95% of ENG-lang posts
I'd be happy with big non politics accounts.

Will EU officials have to stop all travel to the US or closely allied states to avoid getting Meng Wanzhou'd?
The "head of office at US Big Tech lobby CCIA Europe, told Euractiv that he would warn EU lawmakers against efforts to decouple too sharply from US technology, as this would risk provoking countermeasures"
Europe readies digital infrastructure push in 2026

A wave of EU legislation will target cloud services, chips and networks and step up Europe’s push to curb dependence on US technology

Ergo: Keine Basis für das Vorgehen in Venezuela

You can make all the conspiracy theories you like but the simplest explanation remains the most likely one and the simplest one given everything going on with Venezuela is that these guys have no idea what they're doing and are basically doing a war for posts and are making it up as they go.

the logic is that if a brand logo that can be endlessly and easily reprinted on t-shirts, hats, coffee mugs

Putin has been famously reticient about targeting Zelensky or breaking international law till now of course.
What a great day for Vladimir Putin! I can picture him in the Kremlin, watching the EU & the UK play dumb while Trump trashes Int. Law, their media reporting Maduro's abduction as an 'arrest'. I bet he's thinking: Should I also detain Zelensky and subject him to Russian justice?

Fidel Castro thought the Directorio's plan to assassinate Batista was a major strategic mistake precisely because it might succeed. He thought anti-Batista sentiment was unifying, a replacement would dull consensus
