The ghost of Bill Buckley lives, absurd

Only 10 years late on this.
A New York Times op-ed last week boasted libertarians "told you so" about Trump.

But it was only a few, since politically exiled, who saw Trump's rise and said: “You know what? I think he and a lot of his followers mean it with the racism, violence and fascism.”

(new @ms.now column)
Opinion | Libertarians warned about executive power. Only a few actually warned about Trump.
Anthony L. Fisher: A recent New York Times op-ed showed the blind spot many libertarians still have for President Donald Trump.

Take a deep breath and rethink this
This is the ideal Democratic candidate. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.

Lol, cmon man
"The Ascent of populist movements is telling us that governments have have strayed too far from being responsive to the working class"

This is probably the only area where AOC agrees with JD Vance and Josh Hawley.

Rick Wilson, trash Republican, ruined Max Cleland’s career, too woke
No. This guy isn’t even a Democrat and fat-shaming is not what people mean when they talk about ‘dark woke’ or ‘woke 2’.

They did the same thing for USFWS grants too. We reviewed for keywords, when every review came back with no issues, DOGE reviewed and killed every application. They keyed on “diversity”…yes, almost all fish and wildlife grants revolve around diversity, in the ecosystem. I quit that week, dream job
DOGE allegedly used ChatGPT to identify 1,400 NEH grants it said were DEI. Grants were terminated April 2025, according to a court filing. E.g.

Film: 1873 Colfax massacre
Film: first female pilots flying for U.S. military in WWII
Film: “Untold Story of Jewish Women Slave Labor in the Holocaust"

The American right does not defend slavery because progressives say it was bad. They defend slavery because racial hierarchy has been an important and increasingly explicit component of their ideology for 70 years. Read a fucking book.
