This is a very important legal case, whereby the enforcement of equal human rights for trans ppl, ruled by the European Court of Human Rights, is actually carried out by the British govt. Having not done so, as legally required, brings the British state into disrepute, & undermines human rights.

I also doubt it.
I’m looking to @greenparty.org.uk for this now.

That’s all I ask at present.
A clear, unapologetic and uncowed announcement of the direction of travel.

Every time Labour does this I simply cannot understand how they don't see that they are making Britain a stupider, crueller and poorer place, all on behalf of people who will never, ever vote for them.

Sure, planet Earth is eventually going to be consumed by the bloated, expanding Red Giant that is the Sun.

But come on.

It’s not the end of the world.

I analysed nothing. I stated a couple of verifiable facts.

The Referendum option read “… Leave the European Union”.

At 2300 UT on 31 January 2020 (more than 5 years and 8 months ago) the UK left the European Union.

There were many millions of witnesses to this event. It is a fait accompli.

Your ‘Brexit’ must be some kind of asymptote.

Goodness, Parker, that was a close call.

Yes ma’am.

Yes ma’am.

Whatever it blows up into, if you’re one of those who have skin in the game it doesn’t feel quite like a matter of ‘culture’!

If ‘gender identity has no observable reality’, how would anyone be able to observe ‘gender non-conforming appearance or behaviour’?

Trump’s eating his heart out over this.

Trump is a solipsist. He probably thinks everyone else is as stupid as he, deep down, knows he is. The only person in the world he thinks cleverer than him is Obama.

It may be a little more specific than that, George. I remember some vox pop interviews before the EU referendum, and one lady saying something like “I think we should leave … we could do with a bit of a change …”

Hard *is* what’s needed. The English (especially) need to be shaken vigorously to rid us of the crust of complacency, entitlement and post-Empire nostalgia that will sink the country otherwise.

It is because the hex-taboo of Breximus Heximus 👻 is so powerful, and so strongly enforced by vaguely defined threats. Watch those threats get better defined the more the govt moves into Forbidden Lands.

“There’s an appetite for *authentic* politics…”

There’s an appetite for authenticity generally. It’s why, for example, generative AI is already doomed. It’s why suppression of gender expression is also doomed.

And it’s why reformistas are definitely not the only ones able to say what they think.

Everybody knows you can’t just ‘join’, no more than ‘just rejoin’ or ‘reverse Brexit’.

But what is doable and sayable if you have the guts and the ‘patriotism’ to do it right now is:

• acknowledge and demonstrate the damage Brexit has done

• announce a new direction of travel toward Europe

This ‘zealously antagonistic’ version is what I call ‘brexitism’. The event was one thing. The state of mind is another.
