We say goodbye to a man who refused to accept the world as it was.

Jesse Jackson didn’t just march in history he helped write it. He stood in the long shadow of Martin Luther King Jr. and refused to let that dream fade when the cameras left and the crowds went home.
Rev. Jesse Jackson, civil rights icon and two-time presidential candidate, dies at 84
“Our father was a servant leader — not only to our family, but to the oppressed, the voiceless, and the overlooked around the world,” the Jackson family said in a statement Tuesday.

Jesse a Jackson interviewed me once and I could not believe that the man standing next to MLK at the moment of his death found a reason to speak to me. I was and remained stunned I was so honored.

David McCullough's Pulitzer-winning biography of John Adams is just FOUR DAMN DOLLARS on the Kindle store. One of my favorite books...he really brings a great man and that era to life. I wind up re-reading it every year or two.

I am gonna go out on a limb and say that a Jersey dude so horrified that he went to his first protest and is trying not to cry on camera has a pretty good chance of staying radicalized. And that while Bluesky loves to pick apart things like this, this kinda video moves the needle for OTHER dudes.
Yesterday morning kids were sent running from their bus stop in panic because ICE showed up. This guy at today’s ICE Out of Lindenwold protest is a must watch 😭. @maddow.bsky.social
