Putin’s place is at The Hague to be judged for his war crimes, not at the negotiating table.
💔 Toretsk. Another ghost town in Donbas that no longer exists. The war brought the most terrible destruction of cities in Europe since World War II.

The CBS investigation portrays a modern concentration camp, similar to the Soviet GULAG (like CECOT, an acronym): sadistic guards, 24 hour lighting, isolation cells.
Americans once opposed this inhumane system.
The Trump administration sent innocent people there to suffer.

And I'm calling on other candidates to follow suit.

Think of your biggest financial risk: it's not your stock portfolio, it's losing your paycheck. That's why unemployment is the single best measure of economic health—when people can't earn a living, everything else in the data is just background noise.

And unemployment is rising.

It was… and remains one of Brexit’s biggest fault lines. The howling inadequacy of its champions.
The other main fault line is Brexit’s dishonesty. Once you expose the lies, it exposes a profound betrayal of our country’s best interests.

Trump has now conducted 28 boat strikes, killing over 100 people.

Remember: no judge or jury has found these boats were trafficking drugs. We're simply taking Trump's word for it.

He’s unilaterally acting as judge, jury, and executioner.

This is a danger to us all.

I don’t (entirely) agree. The fixation early on to use Russian assets now without considering alternatives poisoned the discussion from the beginning. freezing the assets indeterminately and providing joint borrowing is a very good outcome - also an important precedent for future financing rounds.

Better than nothing, but not a good outcome. Ru intimidated Europe into not touching the frozen assets. It drove a wedge in the EU as some member states are opting out of this plan. Ru will continue its hybrid war and its efforts to divide Europe, trying to get more Orbans elected to do its bidding.
We have a deal.

Decision to provide 90 billion euros of support to Ukraine for 2026-27 approved.

There's just too much cowardice, too much defeatism, excuses about not destabilizing Russia, a strong will among some to return to business as usual, the false idea that Russia cannot be beaten. Only Ukraine spills its blood. But Ukraine will eventually win because otherwise it will be exterminated.

Russia threatening legal action and ‘damages’ for sequestration of their assets is all part of their asymmetric hybrid war.

They use Western legal systems, when they have no rule of law, just as they call for free speech while killing journalists and imprisoning protestors

The UK should be there. Perhaps this is one summit where people can understand the geopolitical cost of #Brexit as well as the economic one.
They’re still at it, with no sign of a breakthrough.

Read what’s at stake - for Europe, for the Czech Republic, and for Ukraine.

And why European leaders like Andrej Babiš may find it ever harder to sit on the fence.

Suspect some female Tory MPs are quietly dying inside at this. When you’re so desperate to get in a bit of gratuitous foreigner-bashing that you find yourself arguing *against* preventative strategies that try to prevent sexual violence, ffs, what have you become?
Dog-whistle and factually incorrect. Ladies, raise your hand if you were sexually assaulted by a boy at school? I’d wager this or a family member is most women’s first experience of sexual violence

I'm once again asking the nation's press to consider reporting how some of the most important decisions of our lives in Europe are being made without the UK government participation, and if that is good or sustainable.
It's going to be a long, hard EU summit today (and maybe for a few days).

My take based on conversations in last 24 hours

- Ukraine loan I think has a good chance of getting done. Nothing final but there is room for a deal. Good news

- Mercosur also looking better than yesterday.

Stating the obvious, but if Trump realizes Putin ‘wants the whole country’ then pressure exerted on Ukraine to concede some of it is just helping Putin achieve his goals step by step.
