Trump deported Iranian Christians with open asylum claims for religious persecution four weeks ago.

He expelled other Iranian Christians, including children, to Panama in February.

The mural features a masked ICE agent, in a Dodgers hat, escorting a handcuffed Fernando Valenzuela, the iconic Dodgers pitcher.

Below the painting, a vinyl sticker on the wall declares: “I LOVE THE #DODGERS. But I Love My Community More! Community Over Profit.”

Folks who say ordinary conservative Americans don't care about remodelling the White House need to come on my Facebook full of 60-year olds back home in West Virginia getting radicalized by Trump arbitrarily destroying a national symbol that shit is resonating

I wonder if the South American fishermen he's routinely killing would count as "innocent Christians" too, or nah?

You should see what he is doing to Americans
The naked emperor, big peace prize nominee, saying we are going to intervene now in Nigeria? Wherever Christians across the world are "attacked" or what? I'm confused.
Also we make commitments like this while folks go without paychecks, food, healthcare? America first? What's that?

The White House has now forbidden reporters from parts of the West Wing. That’s not about space, it’s about story control. When power starts managing proximity, it’s already managing truth.

In any previous era, INCLUDING TRUMP’S FIRST TERM, this kind of overt corruption would have likely led to Patel being shown the door. But in Trump 2.0, the media and our institutions have decided none of this matters, so Trump and his friends have formed a pact for mutual plunder.

The word "clash" needs to be completed retired from the vocabulary in reporting on this. "Clash" implies force on both sides. The Feds, ISP, and other cops are wantonly attacking peaceful people.
Schools went on lockdown, people stayed inside. It lasted the entire afternoon. A constant din of whistles, sirens, helicopters, people shouting. Or dead silence.

I see the NYT, New Yorker, commentariat frame it as "activists clashing with ICE."

No.

ICE/CBP/DHS are terrorizing US citizens.

media elites have talked themselves into a weird bind, where liberalism is so much the default that simultaneously a) it doesn't need defending but also b) any defeat no matter how marginal must refute it completely
Douthat writes that 2024, when Harris lost by 1.5% of the popular vote, was "an ideological referendum and progressivism lost." I wonder why he didn't view the 2020 election, when Trump lost by 4.5% of the popular vote, as a far more significant loss for conservatism.

Comparing the relation between the presidential election results in 2020 and 2024 with the post-election commentary is a fascinating exercise.

2020
Biden 81,283,501 popular votes, 51.3%
Trump 74,223,975 popular votes 46.8%

2024
Trump 77,302,580 49.8%
Harris 75,017,613. 48.3%
