The asymmetrical media response to political violence in America is, in itself, one of the most important contributing factors to how we arrived at this place of escalating political violence.

It’s remarkable how strongly some of the people listed OPPOSED the shooting. They’re being put on just for things like worrying what the right will do. And these losers running the site are proving them right.

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD is now a literary demonstration of "horseshoe theory." MAGA hates it bc it's "blood libel to the South" and the far-left has repudiated it for "centering" a white girl and promoting a "white savior" character (Atticus).

Meanwhile, normal people continue to love the book.

I don't want to start a thing so I'll just say that there will never be a good argument for privatizing USPS. That would be like privatizing libraries. The aim of services isn't to be run for profit, they are for serving the greater good, which USPS has been extremely successful at.

Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.

OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.

See all the baby graves from before the 1950s & 60s? After that, hardly any. That's when people started vaccinating their children against deadly childhood diseases. If you're unsure what to do to protect your kids, the answer is literally written in stone.”

Under Trump’s new regime, it’s more urgent than ever to defend labor rights & remember that Labor Day belongs to workers, not their oppressors.

I don't think there is anything stopping them legally. And they may find it to be appealing financially. However, it would be the death of a culture socially. Because nothing new reflecting the existing society would be produced. No advancement. Just a never-ending sifting through a bigoted past.

AI does not have a brain. It's a sorting machine. It does not know how to carve harm from old works. It does not know how to take a story and make it relevant to our society of 2025. It does not know how to look at our history and imagine a future. It can only steal from Octavia Butler, not BE her.
