"Daniel Brass does not exist..."

Happy Tuesday, friends!

My new book, THE WITNESS, is available today!

A standalone entry in the Novels of the Underground series, we're heading to Boston to combat crime families and corrupt politicians in the search for a missing girl.

Some people really lean into their nominative determinism, is all I'm saying.

My big fear is that moving Palestinians back into Gaza as part of a ceasefire is just so Bibi has them all in one place to finish the job.

Name an Italian *criminal* more worthy of an American holiday than Columbus

4/ Ok, so then the obvious next step is to negotiate a compromise. That's how we've always avoided shutdowns. And Republicans need to convene those talks, bc they're in charge.

But here's the kicker - Trump is telling them to BOYCOTT NEGOTIATING. And they are following orders.

I am a firm believer in letting creators have a year or two of peace to run stories and build characters, rather than having their flow upended every nine months for some new event that will be forgotten in a year.

Jist because of availability, I started at random with one ("City of the Living Dead"), and now I've gone back to start from the beginning (reading "The Torture Trust" now).

It's definitely an acquired taste, and the author changes can produce mixed results, but I like them.

Now I have to look and see what edition mine is...

Bur every few years, someone trots it out again, which further robs it of any significance.

Hard agree (though this post and adjacent threads jist gave me an idea for a new Apocalypse story that my sleep-deprived brain thinks is cool).

Just mentioned the Avenger thing elsewhere. Hank and Simon all day!

I share these opinions. That run did more harm than good, in the long term.

Man, I'm in for the "What If..." universe where the New Mutants became the X-Men and the X-Men just moved on to other stuff (with at least one of them joining the Hellfire Club out of bitterness).

Beast should be an A-list *Avenger.*

Had this same discussion with someone a few weeks back: Hank with thr Avengers feels like he's a functioning adult. Hank with thr X-Men feels like he's hanging out with his friends from high school who keep holding him back

Because both of them have moved so far beyond their original storylines that they're just "time traveling mutants" now.

i have been published since 1994 and i don't have any opinions, i'm too tired, i've heard all the arguments more than once, everyone should write what they want and how they want, everyone wake me up when your (wonderful) book comes out, i wish you all the best with it

Tell me your most unhinged literary opinion, as a little treat

So, as someone who worked in marketing comms, I gotta say, most of these feel more like the CEOs / execs dictating marketing from the top, rather than letting marketing do their goddamn jobs.

I'm reading the SECRET AGENT X pulps from the '30s and the author(s) dropped footnotes in randomly, but they were written in-universe as if the author was a biographer.

I kinda love it.
