This bridge builder is a fool! No one crosses the river here!
When these cycleways were being built in the 2010s, a black-cab driver told me Transport for London was run by fools because Londoners don't cycle

I'll be there
Evanston has maintained its Silver status for a Bicycle Friendly Community. We’re grateful for the strides our city has made, but there’s still much work to do! Attend the Bike Plan Update Meeting tonight at Crown Center (1801 Main St) from 7 to 9 PM to voice support for future improvements!

I didn't keep going North of Lawrence but it looked like it had been cleared and salted South of there, so hopefully they did the whole thing!

Happy to report the Clark St protected bike lane was basically perfect from its Southern start up to Lawrence.

The Lawrence Ave paonted bike lane, unfortunately like my bike, is nasty as hell and full of slush 🤢

Haven't needed to travel on Clark south of Devon but something tells me the bike lane in the quoted tweet looks better than Clark St. in Edgewater

What a great visualization--while ridership is still far below 2019, it's notable that, especially ex-winter, 2025 saw meaningful growth over 2024
Marathon week 2025 was once again the busiest week for CTA rail.

St. Pats (3/15: 569,090) was the highest individual day.

I've been wondering what the average bus speed is for Chicago's buses since Active Transportation Alliance conducted their Bus Report Card study.
Considering the growth in cars in Chicag, I'm not at all surprised by this pathetic speed for an "express" bus.
The odometer came in at less than 6mph average speed.

I actually enjoyed biking in the snow earlier today. Took Clark St instead of side streets in my part of Rogers Park and it was fine. Felt like I was riding in a snow globe.

Called one car in for blocking the crosswalk and came home to see three cars ticketed🥳🥳

Very grateful for my intuition. I avoided at least three wipeouts in the Clark St bike lane tonight.

That Evanston/Chicago border continues to reveal which city cares about clear sidewalks in the winter and which one doesn't

It was very tempting to work from home today so I could admire the waves. 😭😭

I really wish we didn't terminate the bike lane at bus stops.

A bike lane is only as good as its weakest link and wow are the Clark St. bike lanes between Winnemac and Montrose weak AF at the bus stops.
There were 3 parked cars at the bus stop and within the bike lane at 4898 N Clark.
I really Chicago had a bounty program for parking violations.
