If the industry was run by clever and competent ppl, this would be the phase where they experiment with aesthetics. Instead of boring squares, trying for different fun designs.
Industry-wide, electronics have mostly commodified. One laptop's mostly as good as another. One phone is pretty much indistinguishable from other models. Unless you're shooting for bleeding edge graphics, even 1440p performance has plateaued.

I held on to a laptop for 11 years and only just replaced it this year with a used one for under $400.
There's been no appreciable gain in having faster phones, and Windows 11 isn't much more demanding than Windows 10.
Prices go up, but there's no commensurate gain.

Haven't seen the movie, but "Like ChatGPT wrote it" to me seems on brand bcz that's how I see most Stephen King adaptations. There's something about his style of writing, the way characters speak, the way they act, that I find incredibly off-putting.
Look, if you didn't like this new Running Man movie, that's fine, but I'm so confused at WHY people don't like it when I hear reviews like, "This didn't make sense, it was like ChatGPT wrote it," and the movie is like 90% exactly from Stephen King's 43-year-old book.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
