This composition had eluded me for nearly a decade, but yesterday I was finally able to capture it. A train rolled through just as the Duquesne Incline was crossing over the tracks in #Pittsburgh, creating a picture perfect winter scene. It was worth the hours and hours I've waited over the years.

Huge news for Bay Area transit, but with the bonkers rollout of this (open payments first with Clipper cards being enabled for transfers later), I'm wondering how this works with reduced fares.

It'll be cheaper to pay full price (with free xfers) than the 50% off Clipper Start fare for a while!
Starting Dec 10, most Bay Area transit transfers will be free for two hours. If you take AC Transit to BART then transfer to Muni, your fare today is $9.10. With Clipper 2, the free AC and Muni transfers mean your fare will be just $3.90

@bart.gov and @sfmta.bsky.social I see you installing concourse level at the civic center elevator. How will fare media interact with this? especially in regards to Muni Mobile ticketing which requires a station agent to open the gates?

people mix them up all the time, but it's not difficult to understand the difference between lie and lay.

to lie is intransitive, as in "eat hot chip and lie"
to lay is transitive, as in "lays potato chips"

lol an SF paper recently interviewed me for a piece on "transit enthusiasts" and i had to tell them i've lived in toronto for three years. the interview went on awkwardly, but they ultimately excluded me from the piece.

the piece kind of sucks, though, so i'm ok with having wasted their time
