Waiting lists are down, ambulance response times are down and GP satisfaction is up. The Tories broke our NHS and Nigel Farage likes to talk about replacing it with private health insurance. But Labour is working hard to get our health service back on its feet

At the height of UK politics Twitter, I used to come to London regularly to catch up with contacts in media, think tank world &parliament. So many of the "Insider stories" they told me sounded oddly familiar. And then I realised. I had read about them on Twitter. So had the "Westminster Insiders“.
imo the "influencer theory of everything" is obviously impacting UK politicians, especially the more Twitter-brained ones. But (at least for a few more years) they still also have to engage with public broadcasters that still reach truly mass news audiences and can push back, if they are willing to.

Disgraceful words from the perennial draft dodger
Donald Trump again disparages Nato allies, claiming troops “stayed a little back, a little off the frontlines” while fighting in Afghanistan in support of US against Taliban.

Only time Nato has ever invoked article 5 – that attack on one member represents attack on all – came after September 11.

Repeat after me - the institutions of this economy depend on the institutions of this democracy, among which is the rule of law
Jack Smith: "My fear is that we have seen the rule of law function in our country for so long that many of us have come to take it for granted. The rule of law is not self-executing. It depends on our collective commitment to apply it."

That order is not coming back, but from the fracture, we can build something better, stronger, and more just.
