Hey, apologies in advance for anyone that follows me: this is a venting account! Yeah sometimes I'll say Normal Things but I am very depressed :')

Today was a beautiful cool day of approx 24°A huge relief from last week’s heat.When I was walking in a local park, I came across a stand of wild growing persimmon and fig trees. The #birds (Musk & Rainbow Lorikeets) are feasting on the persimmons & soon they will on the hundreds of figs no doubt.

#iridescent was the prompt for #birdoftheday. This Black-billed Magpie was cruising thru the gaps between sagebrush up and over a ridge.

The bird is black at the body with white shoulder stripes flowing backward along the junction with the shimmering blue wings. White wing tips balance the brilliant blue-green iridescence.

A Vermilion Flycatcher, it's a rarity for my location and a new lifer for me. Despite their adorable appearance, they are members of the tyrant flycatcher family and tend to have aggressive, territorial behaviors.

How... how can I provide comfort to my (US) friends in this time? I don't want to bring it up when they're already living it. I don't know what to do. I just have to hope they're alright. I have to hope that everything is okay. My heart is breaking.
