It's interesting that we've had two members of Congress attacked in a few days, and that has not had near the same amount of media coverage a restaurant owner telling that nepo baby swamp creature to get out. I wonder what those two members of Congress might have in common.

Not to make it about something trivial in the grand scope of things, but this is what those space stories are about (and, yeah, that confuses people too).
They're so ANGRY that we take care of each other, and not just angry.

So CONFUSED by it.

And that is why we will win

This is unconscionable. Evil.

But it happened in May 2023, when Biden was president.

So no, we don’t “reform immigration detention,” we destroy ICE, CBP, and DHS. We can’t reform this soul sickness.
Anadith Danay Reyes Álvarez died in government custody.

She had sickle cell and congenital heart disease but couldn’t access timely and adequate medical care.

We need to reform immigration detention.

It's not quite the most pressing issue at the moment, but the American people absolutely have a right to know the names of the federal officials who shot and killed a man peacefully protesting, who was on his knees, prone in the street when they shot him in the back.

I'm sorry, this isn't true. Trump and Musk gutting US Aid has led to the deaths of more than 700,000 people and counting.

Biden's genocide was horrific. Trump's is also horrific. unfortunately it hasn't gotten much attention. 1
nobody wants to admit this but as bad as things genuinely are in the us right now it's actually still not worse than joe biden letting the idf bomb an entrapped civilian population nonstop every single day for over a year, with no red lines and no guidelines at all about acceptable targets

a YEAR
like i want to be extremely clear here, ***biden and harris were worse than term one trump***

we can't even say that more people died of covid on trump's watch, and every single thing that was bad under trump 1 got worse under biden + harris, so they didn't even fix anything AND did a genocide

"ICE is why the economy sucks" is a very powerful argument because 1) fuck ICE 2) "thinks past the sale" of convincing people the economy sucks 3) kinda true but in an obviously suspect and debatable way, trapping your opponents into arguing into your frame. bsky.app/profile/tadt...
Many people are saying ICE is why the economy sucks. They spent up all the money on this, the worst show on TV.

LOL. Despite this being a Harris+71 seat, Democrat Meg Luger-Nikolai won tonight by a *91-point* margin. Easily one of the wildest overperformances we’ve ever seen, given the district’s deep, deep blue lean.
Couple of special elections in very blue districts in the Twin Cities area tonight, though only one is contested. It's a +71 Harris seat, so hard for Democrats to overperform when the margins are already so lopsided, but we'll see.

I agree that it’s high fucking time that we stopped acting like we need to grovel and constantly justify the existence of some of our most incredibly elemental and ancient human pursuits.
Are the humanities the only disciplines whose classes begin with modules speaking to the importance of studying the humanities? "Why study the humanities?" and "Why the humanities are important" must be cliches.
