Hot take: If the problem is an accelerating food crisis caused by the climate crisis, the answer is not to tell people what to eat. The answer is to work collectively for a just transition off fossil fuels.

If you want a world with strawberries and coffee in it, fight oil not milk.
Most meat does not come from pastures and meadows, but from factory farms. Veganism is not the only option (I am not), but we need to drastically reduce meat consumption (also so that the remaining meat can indeed come from pastures and meadows).

Cool to see GenAI eroding social trust, deteriorating academic quality, and pushing students away from higher learning institutions.
Students are taking new measures, such as dumbing down their work, spying on themselves and using AI “humanizer” programs, to beat accusations of cheating with artificial intelligence.
To avoid accusations of AI cheating, college students are turning to AI

ICE is not broken. It's agents murdering people, taking trophies of victims, using illegal tactics, breaking laws, spreading terror, and leaving death cards are not isolated events, outliers, or accidents. ICE is operating exactly as intended.

Generative AI generates new material that mimics patterns it sees in its source material. It does not accurately extract information from that source material. It is not a search engine. IT CANNOT DO THE THING YOU WANT IT TO DO, no matter how firmly you believe that it can.

Even taking this at face value, there is no way to turn current ICE & CBP into "immigration enforcement that is lawful, reasonable, and effective." You can't "commonsense reform" an agency full of people who gladly masked up to murder people, kidnap children, teargas daycares, and invade consulates.
As support to dismantle ICE/CBP becomes the clear majority position - Schumer’s surrender Dems are listening to milquetoast “reform” messaging - and it is coming from John Fetterman’s former chief of staff.

Trump Condemns Ilhan Omar. An Hour Later, She's Attacked in Minnesota.
It's probably a coincidence that Trump had spent most of the week attacking Ilhan Omar online, immediately before she was attacked in person.

This is incredible. Boris Johnson was in such a rush to deport people to Rwanda, he agreed the UK would pay Rwanda £290M with no real guarantees

Then when Starmer came in, he triumphantly announced it dead, but forgot to actually cancel it and now owes another £100M

The African nation argues it is owed payments but the Home Office says it will fight the case.
