i think tech and ai positive people are going to be in for a big shock when anti tech and anti ai sentiment becomes a major part of leftwing politics going forward especially as datacenters continue to destroy communities and raise electricity bills
Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?

Those onions are gonna be real soggy when they get to you.
I assume that getting steak and lobster dinners with 20,000 calories of appetizers for your whole family delivered by personal chauffeur is inexpensive again now that Uncle Joe Brandon is out of the White House at least

He’s running
My daughter and I visited the house we lived in when she was a baby, and she was shocked a 29-year-old Navy guy could afford a nice house in a safe neighborhood.

That wasn’t crazy in 1996 — but today, a nice house is out of reach for so many young people. That has to change.

New pricing tiers at national parks based on who you are and where you come from is EXTREMELY Nazi stuff
The Trump administration is raising national parks' prices and adding fees for international tourists from next year in an "America-first" initiative, the Interior Department announced.
Trump admin hikes national parks prices by up to $170 for international tourists
The Interior Department said the "America-first" policy will see "resident-only patriotic fee-free days" on some holidays.

Ask a Black woman if racism and sexism isn't a material concern in their lives before you come trying to Do Theory at me.

White men get a material benefit from structural racism and sexism, and they vote with their own material advancement in mind.

False consciousness is not a real thing.

I’m not saying ICE wouldn’t come to Revere, MA just because…

Actually that is what I’m saying.

if there is one American value I really do pride myself on adhering to when I travel abroad, it is “I will enthusiastically try all of your local foods”

Pedagogy isn't fragile!

We should put that on some mugs, I think.

Yes! We have been in the business of discipline-specific pedagogy for years now. A field doesn't get upended over one new technology. Pedagogy isn't fragile!
It is amazing actually what good pedagogy can accomplish by guiding students, incl. in their very first year of university, through the substantive work of facing serious course materials head-on with discipline-specific approaches. Relying on synthetic text critique is really not it.

I was asked about it on a panel in Miami over the weekend and I responded, "tools for plagiarism have existed forever. We had photocopiers for decades. The fact that plagiarism has gotten more sophisticated doesn't change what it is."
