I'm Gil, a 30smth-year-old writer of fanfic and original works from Germany. 90% of my writing is in English, but I am currently working on a German-language queer coming-of-age novel. You can find my writing under the #writinggil tag.
Survived the conversation with the admin. They are working on solutions and will report back on Monday. Thankfully, they seem to have realised that they *did* in fact give me a bigger work load than I could handle and that I was correct in complaining about that at the end of last school year...

In my case, my brain is physically incapable of listening to something without some other kind of sensory stimulation. Enjoying two different kinds of art at the same time can be fine if you're wired to absorb information better when it's simultaneously with the same intensity.
The other day, somebody was asking for recommendations for videogames to play while listening to podcasts. There's no way I could listen to a podcast & play a videogame simultaneously - I'd quickly either stop paying attention to the podcast or stop paying attention to the videogame.
I guess this explains the AI boom a lot. Nobody wants to put time into making things because the audience refuses to actually pay any attention to it anyway. Nobody wants to make the things and nobody wants to watch it. What's the point? What are y'all doing here?

"Bamboo" is maybe exotic and a compelling hook but it is too easy. The real story here is the growing culture of corruption, including a lack of accountability and oversight, that enabled a chain of human errors that led to this disaster.
