THE ATOMIC SUBMARINE (1959) –Dir. Spencer G. Bennet
Low budget and proudly so. Cold War sci-fi yarn leans into fun over polish-don't question the science of it all. The effects are scrappy, the pace brisk, and the rubbery beastie, at its core, delivers pure drive-in charm. Cheap thrills done right🎞️📽️

Joyously mad Japanese production has its western cast tackle rubber monsters on a space station in a riot of kaiju style crazy and bad acting. Glorious. 1968.

RIDE THE HIGH COUNTRY

Peckinpah's second film had me craving for more Westerns, as it integrated the value of friendship into more common Western themes. This is also a fitting tribute for both aging yet excellent leads Randolph Scott and Joel McCrea.
