I think this is the thing everyone needs to understand. I'm not really a fan of AI and I don't use it in my workflows, but it's not going away. What normalised AI use will look like is unclear, but it's going to be everywhere in some form, with all the upsides and downsides that brings.
Pandora's box is open. We're not going back to a pre-AI world, even if some of the big AI companies collapse. There are tons of great open source AI models now.
So I hope over time more of you join me in using these tools against the powerful rather than fruitlessly hoping they will vanish.

Smart features has been there for years. That's why everyone is scratching their heads when they follow this advice and the filter tabs disappear.
Another "disable this setting immediately!" AI warning that breaks features for users without any evidence as to why this needs doing. No link, nothing.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.
