And everyone is safer and happier if you go in with knowledge, an understanding of your own ethical boundaries, and a very firm consent-based attitude.
So much of what I fear and resent about the current generation of AI is the total trampling of consent.

In one of the projects I'm working on, I talked about my attitude about AI and its place in writing as "harm reduction" and I am going to be thinking about that for a bit.
Like when I teach teens about sexual activity - sexuality is fine! But there are ways that it can be harmful.

I listened to a podcast this morning where they repeatedly said โyou canโt think without writingโ and just to nip that one in the budโฆ
Thatโs wrong (there are many illiterate people and they all think) and also dumb (Socrates was famously both illiterate and had thoughts.)
