I used the app for some time but realized I was being way too compulsive about opening it up and checking my phone all the time so I uninstalled it.

Running it in a phone browser tab instead didn't help as much as I had hoped.

I took three weeks off here and it was good for my brain.

I think I've broken the doom-scrolling habit that was making me miserable with no benefit, but I'm going to keep it off my phone and only use it on the computer for now.

Most opinion columnists remind me of freshmen writing position papers on articles they didn't read, but Coates obviously actually thinks about things, including thinking about what he thinks. That's an unfortunately rare attribute in the world.
