This fits sorta nicely with my current reading of Artemis. Heat will be the biggest problem I think but the responses to this are excellent and knowledgeable.
Space nerds (that's you, @spacekate.bsky.social) has anyone done this deep dive?
What I wouldn't give for a seriously deep dive on the viability of orbital data centers from people who understand the physics AND also aren't just assuming we're gonna yeet GPUs/TPUs to orbit and call it a day.

Weird top of foot pain appears to have been a muscle cramp? Is that a thing? Still a bit tender but can now walk and move without limitation so off to the gym I go!

To all the Americans I know who are decent, kind, thoughtful people. Who have an iota of self-awareness, and realise how the rest of the world functions.

I'm sorry you have 'that' as a President.

I write. I blog, I journal, and I have a novel in the works. None of these make me successful but all of them keep me sane, balanced, and help me understand myself and my place in the world.

Writing is the best. Just do it for yourself.

Went for a drive in Vera (our motorhome), gave her a clean and tidy, then stopped off to do some writing. Not a bad view for it if you ask me!

Upside of writing a weekly “notes” post; makes me more vigilant of what I’m consuming and pushes me to discover new things.

Downside of writing a weekly “notes” post; makes me more vigilant of things I’m consuming and highlights how narrow my consumption of news, media, music really is.

Dear billionaires, none of you need more than 1 billion (I’m being VERY generous here), yet you hoard your wealth in the hopes of what, power, popularity??

Do you know what would make you THE most talked about person on the planet? Can you guess???

I despise these “men” and their idiotic, dangerous, rhetoric.

Real men respect other people, because we are secure in ourselves.

This “man” is nothing, yet thinks he is something. Vile.

Apple Numbers vs Microsoft Excel.

One is free (for me), one is part of an £80 a year subscription. I use Excel for, at most, three spreadsheets (one for money, one for gaming, and usually one random one for a project).

Intrigued if I can move to Apple Numbers and ditch Microsoft.

Slow removal of gmail has begun. Realising just how many accounts use it is both staggering and daunting. But then I’ve been using gmail for … 15 years? More?

Thankful for the Apple Passwords app which lets me search for “gmail” and then bounce to the website to update my email (or delete account).

Instagram is now just a place I share reels. I used to enjoy taking “good” photos (by my low standard) and sharing them there but it is no longer that place.

So, what is? Where’s the photo first sharing app for us amateurs?

I’m sorry. But I think I need an “America” filter.

I’m sorry that I’m even thinking that.

Awake then. Becca has a terrible cough and did a 1am run to Asda for more cough medicine. And now, a few hours late, Jack needed tucked in (happens once a night at the moment). Here’s hoping I can squeeze in a couple more hours sleep soon.
