Maher Tarabishi, who has been detained by ICE since October, was the primary caretaker of his disabled adult child, Wael.

On Jan. 23, Wael died from complications related to Pompe disease, a rare genetic condition.

ICE has now denied Maher’s request to attend his funeral, his attorney says.

Minneapolis has seen a stunning 1,646% spike in calls from families who can't pay rent because they're afraid to leave their homes to work.

This is state violence manufacturing housing precarity in real time.

People should not be facing eviction when their city is under occupation.

Volunteers w/ Safe Haven wait at the gate & do sweeps of the woods, with warm clothes, a burner, and a ride home, "so no one is left alone at the gate."

I spent the evening outside the Whipple federal building in Minneapolis, where the feds have been releasing people they detained — often for no discernible reason — into the freezing cold... wearing whatever little clothing they had on at the time they were taken.

During a trivia game, my cousin yelled “the old man who lives in the attic!” as an answer to “children’s stories.”

And that’s how he learned most children do not, in fact, believe there’s an old man who lives in their attic. My brother made that particular tale up, specially, just for us.

For 14 years, I have felt guilty about the time I borrowed my dad’s first edition of Zorro and rain ruined the cover jacket.

I apologized to him again last weekend & learned I’d already bought him a new copy - a signed first edition, back in 2014. Love how memory works.

As if the ICE presence wasn’t already anxiety/stress inducing enough, it’s now causing events to cancel, which means I have 2 jobs but only 4 total hours of work scheduled next week.

they're executing moms and nurses in the street. they're using preschoolers as bait. they're stealing people's dads and grandmas and children. they're tear gassing babies. they're staking out schools. there is no remedy but abolition. any proposal that doesn't start there is an act of violence.

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

I'd say as long as ICE is allowed in churches, hospitals, and school grounds. Protesters should be allowed as well.

You have to read this. Firsthand affidavit from one of the women who was there and recording the video. She talks about how Alex Pretti was directing traffic when she arrived. She watched him be killed in front of her. She's afraid to go home, worried she'll be arrested.

@barelyinfo.bsky.social shows how absurd DHS & Bovino’s lies are about the killing of Alex Pretti.

(He thinks the ICE agent who took his guy accidentally shot it and started the shooting… at which point they shot Alex 10 times in cold blood)

Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.
