If anyone ever wants to play this, I'm happy to join as a player. 😁
You have gathered to revive someone recently deceased. Will the ritual be successful? What will you sacrifice? Lay the bones and find out in Come Out From Your Grave by Basil Wright, one of the amazing TTRPGs included in the Griot Anthology! #ttrpg

One thing that makes games different from theater so far, that I like, is just making things and putting them out into the world for other people to experience. One thing difference between games and theaters that I like less is not knowing who experienced it or anything about their experience.

This kind of talk about NFT's really primed me for the rhetoric of the generative AI era: the aggressive, hostile insistence that they're "the future" is just desperation from guys who need it to be the future really badly because they've put all their money into it.
We don’t dance on the grave of NFTs enough. I had a year where I was repeatedly told by bozos I was going to be irrelevant and extinct for not embracing them, I should be allowed a victory lap.

In discussing this game I keep coming back to the quoted image, which I find scary as hell, but also this one, which I also find very disturbing for some reason.

Something I've discovered as the years have gone on is that David Lynch's short film Rabbits (2002) has had something of an outsized influence on my work, and this game is kind of just confronting that head on.

I think alternate structures of TTRPG groups is fantastic or necessary, and this makes a good point about who's attracted to this, but what's described below feels to me to have more to do with the expectations of participants to play the role of a character within a world, not create the world.
The "traditional" structure of TTRPGs puts an enormous amount of pressure on the GM to learn/refine & very little on the players.

Which is somehow seen as more reasonable than spreading the load of learning/contribution across the whole table.

Broader implications about community in there, y'all.

I was thinking about this while on the phone with my insurance yesterday. A common refrain is that businesses want to please their customers/clients so they'll do what keeps them coming back, but in reality the way most businesses work is they do what's cheaper and you have no choice.
Dystopia is successfully navigating the AI agent to get to the live agent, but then the live agent can't do anything because they're remote and don't have access to the necessary in-house system.

Thinking of hosting a jam on itchio either in honor of World Theatre Day or of Shakespeare's Birthday. Hm.

If you make anything innovative, you can't open source it anymore, or even keep it on a public git host because it'll just be stolen by AI scrapers and put in the public domain by them.
