Anyway one mildly annoying thing about chronic illness is that if you DO take a sick day, people assume you 'caught something' rather than your own health conditions being, say, unstable things that can suddenly worsen. :(

I wish chronic illness was static! My life would be easier! But!

Hades 2 is another winner for me. Fun gameplay and it’s beautiful. These folks are so damn creative!

I’m glad I played and will tie up the final loose ends before leaving the Crossroads and return to Hallownest, and eventually Silksong.

But the game missed the mark on the theme of deserved retribution and consequence - and Nemesis is right there.

It’s the side stories that really don’t bring me as much joy as I’d hoped. Arachne for one, really disliked that road. Echo, another. Stories that had momentum… then didn’t.

I’ll lament what the foreshadowing (or at least what I perceived as foreshadowing) alluded to.

The arcs that could have been more satisfying if they didn’t end where they started.

Hades has always been about family - one of the best features that ended well (although too easily I’d suggest).

At the end of the day it feels like Hades 2 shifted directions. The winds changed at some point - or maybe that was the plan all along.

Story elements that appeared to be going somewhere didn’t.

We have a beautiful game that I’ve sunk 200+ hours into and will finish with more hours invested.

Any creative pursuit in capitalism is difficult (because they are at odds).

I love games and I love what people make. I picture the writers drinking copious amounts of various caffeine beverages to give us games.

But sometimes plans change and we have to respect the people and their craft first

Winding up Hades 2 (Hollow Knight on pause).

I adore Supergiant and the games they make, including Hades 2. Once the dust has settled I’m going to add some ending thoughts.

Overall, Hades 2 is a lovely game, flaws and all. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. 💕

If there's any takeaway, it's this:

Yeah, transition is scary, especially right now, and medical transition does incur social risks. I knew that going in.

It's still the most worthwhile thing I've ever done for myself.

I've been struggling financially since September due to the tariffs.
