Love to live in a country which takes young people's safety online so seriously you have to give a random third party website your full ID to send DMs but should a young person be trans it's apparently open season for every embittered 50-something out there.

I'll admit that I too was a bit blasé about covid at first but by early March it was clear that a disaster was about to unfold & I'll never forget the way our media & the useless charlatans it had shithoused into power sat there, wallowing in their collective self-importance until it was too late.

Worth remembering that the first use of DNA profiling to convict a murderer (Colin Pitchfork) also happened to be the first time DNA profiling exonerated somebody falsely accused of a murder - namely a learning disabled 17 year old from whom the police had also "obtained" a full confession.
Peter Sullivan tells BBC: 'I was bullied into false murder confession'
In his first interview since release, Peter Sullivan says he wants an apology from the police after wrongful conviction of the 1986 murder of Diane Sindall.

As the Lords environment and climate change committee made clear last month organised waste crime is out of control in this country but instead of a serious effort to tackle this crisis all we get are stupid gimmicks.
Fly-tippers dump ‘mountain’ of waste in Oxfordshire field
Area’s MP says it would cost more than local council’s annual budget to remove the 10-metre high pile of waste

Sorry I didn't get back to you, I was leaving a two star google review for that combined grave at Arlington they put all the unidentifiable bits of the Challenger crew into.

As all this disgusting Epstein shit starts surfacing more and more, I hope we don't lose sight of the fact that apparently every major media outlet knew everything and instead spent their time money and energy attacking the trans community.

Happened to have the news on last night when Tim Davies resigned & I couldn't help but notice how, within the space of ~20 minutes, the story morphed from one about a dodgy edit aired over a year ago to the BBC's alleged "anti-Israel bias". Real stink of shit coming off all of this.

It was insulting enough back in the 2000s but it's just plain ridiculous to see these Atlanticist throwbacks dust off their "save the world from authoritarian kleptocrats" act while they simultaneously glaze the second Trump administration.

The phrases "if you don't like my changes, leave" and "shaking off the fleas" come to mind.

I’ve been around enough comfortably well-off people to get the awful suspicion that it’s not Twitter so much as holidays and expat friends in Dubai that have radicalised them into the idea of small privileged native class and a helot class of guest workers dependent on you
I really think people are underestimating the degree to which 21st century politics are going to be apocalyptically bad; we are collectively sliding towards mass ethnic cleansing being the norm in the Western World, out of no reason but pure fucking spite and empty nostalgia.
Tory policy is to revoke permanent residence (ILR) for everybody who does not earn £38k - deporting most nurses who have ILR

This is put in the video as "who is unlikely to contribute more than they cost"

NB: video does not say EU settled status is exempt

No govt since Idi Amin has done this

Of course all the young(ish) Tories are pivoting to outright Powellism, it's not as if they have a rich record of success to draw on.

A much needed corrective by @chrisgiles.ft.com to the "welfare is out of control" narrative, drawing on research by my colleague @benbgeiger.bsky.social

No need for a moral panic about the welfare system
It’s far from perfect, but the UK’s spending is broadly controlled and employment is high

Constantly struck by how far removed the American right's online conception of itself as a crusading force of chiselled neo-spartans is from its real world manifestation of pea-headed slobs in ill-fiting body armour brutalizing random members of the public.
In Chicago, four vehicles descended and eight ICE agents moved in to kidnap a child.

She screams, “I’m 15,” as ICE yanks her from the car and kneels on her neck.

This is not about immigration enforcement.

It's about terrorizing Americans.

The British press: All trans people must barred from public life to protect women also, here's our softball interview with those indomitable cheeky chappies - the Tate brothers.
you know I wouldn't say I had high hopes for "the Spectator interviews the Tate brothers" anyway but somehow the piece is worse than I thought it would be

Find yourself someone who loves you as much as the BBC loves political movements that explicitly want to destroy it.

The political motivations aside there's just something a bit sad about seeing bits of this country's tatty, austerity-scarred infrastructure bedecked with temu England flags; feels like we're literally papering over the cracks here.

As far as I'm concerned what is happening in Gaza right now is akin to what happened in Eastern Europe in the late stages of Nazi occupation. Any bastard still making excuses can go to hell.
Footage of a young boy no more than three years old rolling about on the floor in agony missing an arm where an Israeli bomb ripped it off just below the shoulder.

But remember kids the feelings of the people committing and cheering this genocide on are more important than all else 👍

10 years of non-stop, all channels pissing and shitting about free speech and this is where we've ended up.
Police in Canterbury today informed a protestor that the phrase "Israel is committing genocide in Gaza" could be considered a declaration of support for Palestine Action and therefore a terrorism offence.

I obviously can't speak for other jews, but to me the world's richest man tweaking his AI so that it now describes things it doesn't like on a scale of "bagel to full Shabbat" and "Peak Jewish" is a somewhat higher priority than people being mean about the IDF at Glasto.
In case you're think Grok isn't being blatantly antisemitic, here's a few more posts from Grok on this topic.
