He's up in the polls and feeling lucky.
It hasn't been six months since the campaign and the government is totally different from what they campaigned on.
Strike breaking is especially egregious because rising wages would help combat cost of living / housing crisis and he should know this.
Big Lies so far:
- attrition only for the public service replaced by 7/15/15
- defense boost => change coast guard to be defense spending
- tax cuts for the rich: right after canning Capital Tax reforms, cancelled the DST
- doing nothing on housing / cost of living except for strike breaking
He knew enough about politics to lie about what he was going to do during the election.
Love this one because normally malware authors goto jail, but somehow Sony skates by with just a couple of fines.

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

Because the *provinces* refuse to fund their justice systems properly, and the absolutely nobody will hold them to account for it.
Great piece from Dale. In my opinion, we're going to jail enormous numbers of innocent people because the feds and the provinces refuse to fix the delays in the justice system.
For the late/west coast crowd, my latest for @cba-nationalmag.bsky.social on why the legal community is panning the bail reform bill, pointing to the loss of the presumption of innocence amidst the rhetoric #cdnlaw #cdnpoli
It's looking that way.
He cancelled the carbon tax and rebate which was the most effective way to limit the effects of climate change, which is the second most important factor in the food inflation after corporate gouging. That rebate was nice too.
There are millions more gamers now so there's no need for prices to follow inflation.

Just a reminder…

While Smith and Lagrange are talking about the biggest factors influencing health outcomes and why they’re profitizing Alberta’s healthcare…

The #1 factor that determines health outcomes is made worse by the policy.

It’s poverty.

They always throw these in the trash. It's hard to tell if Carney is serious about AI. Ironically, appointing his idiot running buddy minister of AI has given me hope that he's not really so keen on it...

Good advice for Canada as well.
Canadians should note that Carney’s axing of the Digital Services Tax is exactly the type of action the article warns against as a fundamental surrender of national sovereignty in a key economic policy area.
Europe’s should stop signing trade deals that restrict its future policy options. It must fight the portrayal of tech regulations as trade barriers and instead highlight how its laws strengthen digital trade, writes Open Market Institute's Audrey Stienon.

European leaders must take the lead in imposing checks on Big Tech, and by extension, the US chokehold over the global digital economy, writes Audrey Stienon.

I love how they didn't mention far uvc, upper uvgi at all, except for a single note about how they can cause ozone...
HC still doesn't believe in ultraviolet for infection control.
It's already being used for attacks though. It's probably a net drain because better phishing and phone scams will outpace any defense improvements.
AI definitely isn't going to help
