the new US admin would be unlikely to restart Israel's genocide in 2025 had the Dem party pushed the Biden crew to end it about a year earlier, which could have very well also denied Trump the presidency.

huge lasting costs all around, and for what, to what end...

Support for a ceasefire was already overwhelming among Democrats in early 2024 and Biden never came close to getting one, and according to Israeli officials never tried. It’s more like 50/50 among Republicans and Trump did it twice.

Can you put into words what that purpose is? You and the frog have really become icons of this protest.

There’s been a nice overall whimsy that has shown up. The frog is amazing. We had a bunch of other inflatable people here last night, too. I saw people playing Twister the other day.

What they rely on is fear. So by coming out in an absurdist manner, it speaks to them, to some extent, that we’re actually not that afraid.

It also dismantles their narrative a little bit. When they try to describe this situation as “war-torn,” it becomes much harder to take them seriously when they have to post a video saying [U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security] Kristi Noem is up on the balcony staring over the Antifa Army and it’s, like, eight journalists and five protesters and one of them is in a chicken suit.

like its founding political ideology, Israel is ethnoreligious supremacy predicated on domination & expulsion of Arabs on/from Arab lands; they will never willing accept that as legitimate just like no one else would. there's no version of Israel that's not Jewish supremacy, that's not Arabs' fault.

Israel is unique in the ME as a foreign propped old fashioned colonial project but root illegitimacy wouldn't matter if they became a normal contemporary state eg 50 years ago. instead they increasingly want to dominate everyone, not sustainable thanks to Israelis & enablers, not ppl being mean now.
