The Walt Disney Company announces it has reached a three-year agreement with OpenAI to bring its popular characters to the company's Sora AI video generator.
Disney strikes deal with OpenAI to let Sora generate AI videos of its characters
Disney is also investing $1 billion in the AI company, and some videos created through Sora will be available on Disney's streaming platform.

Everyone hates this shit so much. It’s a bipartisan issue. AI sucks. It’s intrusive. It isn’t magical nor is it changing the world other than in the amount of money being wasted on it. Consumers are increasingly offended by its presence

I say this as someone whose entire job is finding the narrow use cases in which AI is actually useful:
All the fear about AI, all the reluctance to adopt it, is entirely legitimate, and a product of the fact that it's been foisted on the public with no consideration of its negative externalities.

I continue to have no sympathy left for whinging about how the public are rude about AI and feel threatened by it when the biggest players in the AI space have spent years very vocally and constantly *threatening the public*

My late dad had arthritis of the spine.
He had to appeal TWICE for disability benefits.
Had to stop working in his 40s, but he could barely sit up straight let alone stand or walk.
Anyone who criticises disability benefits can come and say it to my face and I'll gladly punch you in yours.
