Two community members stand on the street corner of Central Ave and 18th St, watching over a local business in 5° temps with a wind chill of -15°. They are patrolling the area, keeping an eye out for ICE activity, doing what they can to protect their immigrant neighbors.

When law-and-order types point out that only a small percentage of people killed by police each year were unarmed, keep in mind that Renee Good will be classified as "armed."

Victim blaming your own constituents is not the move, was Renee Good fanning the flames when they shot her in the head, was she giving them the excuse they wanted.

the problem with an untrained secret police squad that shoots people in their cars isn’t that they’re untrained

i feel like the next US presidency is up for grabs for any democratic politician with enough of a spine to push consistently for abolishing ICE. they select well for cowards though so don't bet on it

Props to the lady giving an interview in her pink UFFDA hat and saying, "well, gosh, I've never had tear gas and flashbangs shot at me, but I'm happy to take it so my neighbors are safe."

Senate Democrats absolutely have to shut the govt down to stop this ICE insanity in the Twin Cities. This is not sustainable & cannot be normalized. Any Democratic vote to provide money to the thugs who are brutalizing this community is a grave betrayal to the people here. Accountability can't wait.

I know people on Bsky know this but I hope it filters out: The feds are OCCUPYING the Twin Cities. This is a blockade, a siege. They are shutting down economic and civic activity. They are conducting "papers please" stops. They are criminalizing being a bystander/witness.

You could be next.

Note that the fascist is not using the pepper spray for crowd control. He is entering a vehicle unimpeded to depart. He is simply using the pepper spray to physically punish an unarmed citizen he doesn't like.
Big clash this afternoon between DHS agents and protesters in a residential street in Minneapolis, following a DHS agent hitting another vehicle. Tear gas was deployed in people’s yards and agents pepper prayed people.

When the Panama Papers were leaked in 2016 and we learned details of how billionaires were using offshore tax shelters to avoid paying billions in taxes and laundering money from arms sales and drug and sex trafficking, we didn't make billionaires tick a box to wire money out of the country.
Bessent: "For individuals who want to wire money out of the country, they're gonna have to tick a box whether they are or are not on public assistance. Then we're going to start pushing over the coming days and weeks that if you're on public assistance, you cannot wire money out of the country."

this is not a party gearing up to even pare back funding, let alone abolish ICE. I cannot stress enough that it'd be cleaner and easier to just get rid of every last one of them via primary than try to figure out which is worth saving
Democrats officially going all in on the mealy mouthed “ICE needs training” narrative.

No. ABOLISH ICE.
WARNER: It used to take 5 to 6 months to get trained. They've now lowered the training period to 47 days. Why 47 days? Because Donald Trump's the 47th president. Tell me that's a rational approach

KERNEN: I'm not taking that bait

WARNER: Joe! You can't pick your facts
