I like being an uncle for the holidays because: Mom and dad are responsible, and will discipline you. Grandpa and Grandma are indulgent, and will coddle you. But the uncle... the uncle is unpredictable. The niece and nephew cannot know what the uncle will do, because the soul of the uncle is CHAOS

Joe Biden had full knowledge of Donald Trump’s close ties to Jeffery Epstein.

He still shook Trump’s hand, welcomed him back, & allowed this man to retake power of our country.

No wonder Harris refuses to ever run for office again.

Here is the story of another Trump victim, who was murdered:

Blows my mind it hasn't even been a full year of congestion pricing in NYC yet. Years of cranks whining about it and then you just DO IT and everything is instantly better and everyone gets used to it and moves on. We should do good things more often!

PS - T-minus 12 days to Streets Mayor Mamdani!
I refuse to shut up about this: NYC started charging $9 to bring a car into our most transit-rich zone, the haters & trolls predicted doom, but traffic evaporated instantly and here’s Times Square tonite (even after the holiday tourists have left). For a better future, build transit & price driving!

Your tolerance and “nuance” will be weaponised by the grifters and their apologists. Please respect yourselves more.

hot take but if using an llm in the process of writing your novel three years ago disqualifies it from an award that just updated their policy, that is fine. you do not have a god-given right to be a nebula finalist.

the other day I looked at a line that was difficult to localize and went “oh I see what’s happening here. there’s a Shakespeare reference baked in that we don’t want to lose”. you don’t get that without filling your head with all of these creative pieces you squirrel away because of their meaning
YES! this is what techbros who have let their creative selves wither call "procrastination" or "inefficiency" and try to technologise away, not understanding that it is the source of creativity and imagination and everything good
When I sit down to write I'm not consciously pulling from my notes, I'm drawing on the 6 months I spent reading biographies, watching hours of interviews, etc. There is a volume of research, of effort & time that is required to create something meaningful to draw from.

We can do even more.

By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. Repealing Section 230 would chill free speech by allowing platforms, not users, to be held responsible for what its users say. Platforms will become much more censorious over what its users can post. This is extremely bad
They're trying to rush it. Call your reps, don't let them
Sen. WHITEHOUSE: We finally are moving to file a bipartisan Section 230 repeal bill. Waiting any longer serves no useful purpose.

RFK Jr: "All of the ingenuity of corporate America has not produced an infant formula that is superior in nutrition and all the qualities that we want to the infant formula that God made, which is the infant formula in a mother's breast."
